Joe Scarborough was a voice in the politically-correct wilderness this morning on the subject of women in combat. On today's Morning Joe, as other panelists voiced unerring if occasionally cautious support for the Pentagon's decision to permit women in combat, Scarborough sounded a stern warning note.
"I'll be damned; if we find out that the Pentagon is lowering standards for politically-correct reasons, then you know what? Then the blood of dead Americans in future battles will be on their hands."

What is the fitness requirement for infantry with regard to pull ups? If it was just required that one have to do 10 consecutive pull-ups while field dressed it would eliminate about 98% of women from the equation.

Women can graduate from boot camp even if they cannot throw a grenade far enough to escape the blast radius. Women are allowed to swim a shorter distance in flight gear and run the O-course if they want to go into military aviation. “If”? Come aboard, pal.

The USSR had women serving in combat in WWII. Lots of them were killed by their own grenades because they didn’t have the strength to throw it far enough.
