Joe Scarborough has said that he doesn't know whether Morning Joe member Willie Geist is a Democrat or a Republican. I'd say Willie leans left on social issues but is not reflexively liberal on other matters. Today, with Scarborough absent from the Morning Joe set, Geist actually rode to the defense of Rand Paul.
The Republican Senator from Kentucky has been taking heat from Dems over telling Hillary Clinton at yesterday's Benghazi hearings that had he been president, he would have fired her for her handling of the matter. Panelist Donny Deutsch made a predictable attack, calling Paul "pathetic, amateur hour" and an "idiot." But Geist weighed in to say that Paul "had a right to challenge" Clinton, and that he's "not supposed to just sit there and celebrate her," and that he was "doing his job."

PS: There’s no way Willie Geist ia a Republican or a conservative. But I find him more refreshing than a Joe Scarborough who loves to call himself a “small-government conservative” but who loves nothing more than ripping Republicans and conservatives.

Rand Paul doesn’t need defending. It’s too bad that except for him and Johnson, no one else asked the hard questions. They were all too busy praising Mrs. Clinton’s service.

What difference does it make Ms Clinton???? The difference is whether the American people were well served and whether you allowed the people to be lied to, either through a total disregard for honesty or through criminal incompetence.

I stood in line last night waiting, amid a few people, mostly younger, also waiting to pick up supper. CNN was on, showing the “hearings”
Young man in front of me confessed to being worried. His friend said (HONEST)”Don’t worry. Obama got BenLaden and he’ll get BenGhazi, too. It’ll be OK.”
When I got home I put 2 bandaids on my finger, but I didn’t laugh aloud at the guy. “Low information voters.”
Watching more of it last night and this morning I came to the conclusion backed up by our local (anti-Obama) talk show radio station WCBM 680 this morning that the Senate Rs blew this again.
Sure, they did their standard little pooch ‘woof woof’ but Hillary got the last words because they didnt have any real juicy got-ya’s to nail her on camera with, or get her to lie under oath on camera(she takes ‘full’ responsibility without being responsible) and they tried to make too many points at once.
WCBM host speculated that Senate Rs made a deal with Hillary before hand.
Arguing that Rice misled the public immediately after the attack just looked petty so many months later, that is the best they could do?.
But many Rs love the empty bluster from the GOP, that is all they need.
Look forward to Hillary 2016/.

Rand Paul is my senator, unfortunately so is Mitch McConnell. I guess I don’t need to worry since the RATS are talking about running Ashley Judd against McConnell in 2014.

What questions were posed or any substance? Who ordered the back-down? Who was watching (drone)? Who informed whom and what times? Who ordered the ‘it’s a video’ talking-points?
They couldn’t even back-hand her when the “I’ve got better things to do on a Sunday” comment. Where was the “What’s more important on Sunday than 4 dead Americans on YOUR watch?”??

Limbaugh covered it best and his broadcast is worth a repeat. Republican senators fawning spew that went over this hack exemplifies the problem with “The Loyal Opposition”. Protecting their fellow oligarchists GOPES and some of these so called conservatives are not much better..
They’re only loyal to their position and relationship to others they “work with” hold. Not to the public they’re supposed to serve.The other hearing comming up in the Senate is the Kerry nomination. Watch the krap and the emetic producing hoopla that will go on with the “Cambodian Kid’s” nomination.
