Senate hearing: 9:00a.m. EST. House hearing: 2:00 p.m. EST
Watch live here. Also on C-SPAN 3.
In her first testimony since the Benghazi attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will participate in a full day of hearings Wednesday about U.S. diplomatic security and the American mission in Libya.
Sec. Clinton will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the morning followed by an afternoon testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In December, the State Department's highest ranking foreign service officers, William Burns and Thomas Nides, testified before Congressional lawmakers in the Secretary's place. They discussed a new report by an independent panel assessing the Benghazi attack.
Deputy Sec. Nides put several recommendations from a report on the attack into effect before the end of 2012. Implementing the rest, Nides said, will be underway by the time the next Secretary of State takes office. Three State Department officials have resigned since the report was released.
The two officials were substituting for Secretary Clinton, who was recovering from a concussion she suffered after fainting due to dehydration from a stomach virus.
Four Americans were killed in that attack, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. Congress is investigating whether the State Department denied a request for extra security at that outpost earlier in the year and what actions were taken in the moments after the attack began.
Precisely, what does that mean?
BTW, this Coon from Delaware is truly a butt-kissing embarrassment.
Only one so far. Johnson tried but Hillary got all bent out of shape at his questioning.
Perfect name for him, huh?
:)
Flake set her up for the house
Don’t remember. But see #144. Apparently it’s true.
Coons from DE, my Senator, another ass kisser.
Up for re-election in 2014.
These Dems waste their time by praising Hillary, who looks totally bored with the brown nosing, on purpose.
Coons steers his comments toward the future, going forward, he has already forgotten Benghazi.
Just remember, Ray Charles could have seen the security disaster that was about to take place in Benghazi. what’s Hillary’s excuse?
Now Hillary wasting time by talking about future of Africa, talking about things these Senators have no clue about.
coons brown- nosing on his final comments.
the entire game plan here seems to be its(Benghazi) over! Don't ask what happened! Our take is we don't want it to happen again. This probably polled well so they think they can run it right past us. Slick game if they can get it to pass muster. If our side falls for it we deserve what we get.
Did she just say that the reason the Marines are posted at embassies is to protect classified information, not people?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
That may very well be what ‘we’ tell the host country in regards to our having Armed USMC types on scene.
Like ‘the Special Asst to the Ambassador’ is NEVER the CIA Station Chief....or some other supposed job...because we have NO CIA people at the Embassy etc etc etc....(TIC)
Hear the cackle? LOL.
McCain is “proud of her!”
John is firing questions at her, does he really expect answers?
How’s that?
Whoa — McCain is dissatisfied with all of her answers this morning.
Nonsense, IMO. He addressed nothing of import.
I do hope the House gets to the point which is why and how the ambassasor was not protected or rescued.

Face time
He will run out his time, she will answer nothing, procedings will move on
Trouble is put him in a room with dems and he folds every time.He cant be trusted.
Hillary really trying to look bored as McCain talks. He’s hitting hard; but she has the “let’s give the toothless old lion some time to talk” look on her face. She’s not rattled by McCain.
