Not to be outdone, Barack Obama has used his second inaugural address to declare war on an even more nebulous threat to the security of the world: reality, itself.
Here's how he put it in his inaugural address: (H/T Theo Spleenventer; Bishop Hill)
"We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations. Some may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science, but none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms."
The first sentence is a blatant untruth. Concerted global action so far to deal with the threat of climate change has resulted in: higher energy prices; more deaths from fuel poverty; more intrusive regulation; the destruction of rainforests and the squandering of agricultural land on biofuels; higher food prices; famine and food riots as a result partly of the drive for biofuels; the entrenchment of corporatism and rent-seeking to the detriment of free markets; the ravaging of the countryside with ugly solar farms and even uglier wind turbines; the deaths of millions of birds and bats; the great recession. How any of this has in any way benefited either our children (who are going to find it far harder to find a job) or future generations is a complete mystery.
The second sentence is a devious combination of the junk factoid and the non sequitur.
That "overwhelming judgement of science" is a reference to the comprehensively discredited Doran survey: the one where the "97 per cent of climate scientists" turned out to consist of just 75 out of 77 climate scientists who could be bothered to reply to two silly and dubious questions.

He declared that war over 20 years ago.....
Living in his own reality.
The problem with reality, is if you do not deal with it, it WILL deal with you - and not on your terms.
We will all pay the price for 0’s failure to deal with reality.

Liberalism starts from a lie to begin with,
so the whole ideology is at odds with reality.
leftists have been doing that for a very long time
I wish we had media which would call him out on this, but they won’t.
A few years ago, during a terrible wild fire season in Texas, Obama declared that the governor of a state on fire denied global warming. That was one of the most absurd and uncaring statements anyone could make, to express no sympathy for people in Texas affected by the fires, and taking potshots at Gov. Perry to make a half XXXX political statement like this.
But the media didn’t call out Obama for that, and won’t do so as he goes forward into his 2nd term.
The media is not going to call Obama out on anything, and in fact won’t even publish dissenting voices.
Oh, great-now the British are making fun of us, too-and they are completely justified in doing so...
I cannot bring myself to pray for this evil monster and his handlers, other than the imprecatory Psalms.
EVERY marxist, leftist/progressive/communist has declared war on reality. All are insane. The patients are now running the asylum.
most guys in prison will tell you they’re innocent.
they mostly agree. ergo, they’re all scientists!
Seems like I read a year or so ago that BO was promoting all this climate change legistation because it meant huge money for he and his friends like Valerie Jarrett—a la Al Gore. Someone needs to really investigate the money trail and see where it ends and start exposing him and his lying radical buddies.
What is really funny is reading HBO's description for the movie The Day After Tomorrow. They have been showing that on some HBO channels (stayed in a Hotel recently). That movie was based on a book that was based on a scientific paper that said Global Warming will cause cooling to specific regions when the Gulf Stream gets turned off due to ice melting in Greenland. Very dubious science at best. Well that was all done back in the day that Global Warming was still called Global Warming. So read HBO's description for that movie below.
The Day After Tomorrow
A climatologist warns a disbelieving world that climate change will soon result in destructive freak weather conditions, possibly another ice age. While he thinks the world still has time to prepare for the worst, the crisis he has predicted happens almost immediately, as storms, earthquakes and hurricanes strike in terrifying fashion. The weather expert races across America to a frozen New York to rescue his son. Disaster thriller, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid
See that. The person writing the description was so confused that he claims climate change (global warming) will cause the next Ice Age. And that my friends, is unfortunately the reality of the situation. FUBARed.
BO mocks God with every word that comes out of his mouth. I don’t believe man has much to do with global warming if anything. Climate has cycles and has since the beginning of time. God is in charge of this, not BO. Follow the money trail on any global warming.
One time I was having a conversation at work with a “low education voter” and I said, “I think we should just abolish the laws of mathematics” to which he totally agreed. I wish I had taped that for whenever I needed a good laugh (or cry).
