In comments made Friday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said the National Rifle Association (NRA) is a "fringe group" that is "very extreme."
Moreover, according to Schumer, the NRA doesn't "represent average gun [owners]."
Schumer says that during the 1990s the NRA used their lobbying power to fill background checks with loopholes, thus leading to a situation where "40 percent of all guns sold in American have no [background] check."
You'll recall that Obama also used this "40 percent" claim when pushing for more gun control earlier in the week. This claim goes back to a 2011 study by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, where secondary, private guns were lumped in with new guns sales in an attempt to justify saying guns were entering the marketplace with no background checks whatsoever.

The only true thing there is that many gun owners are not members of the NRA. I don’t think the black drug dealers and other criminals in the big cities join the NRA. But are they the kind of residents of the US he wants to be part of?

...I’d like to Senator Schumer walk from Jericho to Gaza without an escort.... Put his boots where his mouth is....
But average Americans? No.
Last I looked it is over 640,000 emails sent. Love to see this top 1,000,000 by end of next week.
Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to go to Ruger.com and sign that form letter. Got 'er dun now. Thanks.
Sen Schumer represents 2/3 of the Jewish voter in the US. They support policies that will destroy their homeland, they will support Dems who have a leftwing and growing Arab wing that will vote policies that will destroy their homeland. The only thing they are good at is support bigger gov and higher taxes. In the private economy many work in Wall Street, and did a good job selling liar loans as AAA investments to the world and pension funds. Before freepers scream, think, blacks are 14 percent of US population, yet represent 40 percent of the crimes. Time to question their culture and values. Jews are 3 percent of US population, represent half of the leadership and key officers in Wall Street banks, and ALL of them under their guidance caused the S&L crisis in the 1980’s and repeat the same schemes in 2000’s. Wonder about their ethnic cultural values. At least the blacks can cover with lack of education and poverty, how will the Jews explain their elites behavior who went to Havard, Yale and etc and come from well to do families. At least Bill Cosby is raising it amongst blacks, who in the Jewish community is raising these failures in the Jewish community??
WHAT? The NRA DOES represent the average gun owner. You Sen. are the extreme fringe of the gun issue.
“Anything to Shumers right he considers extreme.”
Really I’m not extreme Mr. Shumer, but I can be prodded there...
I’ve read some analyses from a couple of shrinks. But none from the Jewish communities that I know of.
But I may not recognize names/background, since I don’t think they trumpet the fact themselves.
My point is having the ever-loving Senator walk the trail might give the opportunity to get a more realistic view of the world as it is.....
Ooops, correction.
Roger L Simon on PJ Media (and his old blog before PJM) is one exception.
FUCS!
I’m an ‘average’ gun owner, and the NRA sure as he!! represents me! - a lot better than my own idiot Commie Statist Senators from the once-great State of Washington (yes I’m talking about you, Murray and Cantwell).
And the NRA represents your average constituent a damned sight better than you do...
How I detest these contemptible know-it-all Statists!
