I wonder if ex-D.C. Mayor and current city councilamn Marion Barry has rented his hotel room yet for the weekend festivities?
When I attended Ronald Reagan’s first inauguration, every DC-area hotel was booked, and I had to stay in Fredericksburg, Va., abut 50 miles away.
You mean, they cant even bus in union thugs like they did in WI?
The reason Obama is having such a hard time getting people to show up at his inauguration is because dead people do not attend festivities.
Fraudulent Election!
I was listening to a news report about it, and in the background they were playing crowd noises. Trying to gin up enthusiasm, I suppose.
I am staying away from the news channel all day Monday. I refuse to give this man one bit of interest. In fact, I think it would be a great time to visit old friends who need visiting!
I'm not about to disappoint my cats!
Why ya tellin’ me? Think I’m studying bed bugs or something?
Unlike a lot of OBambi supporters, I am WORKING on Monday.
Is that an opening for a protest on the cheap? < /sarc >
Plus, he will be already sworn in on Sunday (tomorrow) in private and I would bet anything he uses the Koran. On Monday for the public, he will use Lincoln's Bible and Martin Luther King's Bible. His devil hand will probably burn when it touches either Bible.
My brother and his uber-liberal son are going down to the inauguration.
Few things have pained me as much recently as hearing that my brother was an Obama supporter. His son has a learning disability that inhibits his ability to read, so he gets all of his world-views from television. He isn’t old enough to vote. Yet. I am having difficulty compartmentalizing the politics here.
Several years ago, I heard my mid-teen nephew say aloud at a holiday get together how much he hated the American flag, since it was a symbol of racism and oppression.
I admit that I was stunned speechless. His grandfather served that flag and was buried under it at Arlington. I remember thinking what my dad would have thought had he ever heard that comment.
It bothered me that I was stunned speechless, but maybe that may have been for the best, as I was a guest in my brother’s house.
Sigh. Still can’t believe it. I don’t even visit them anymore. I just can’t.
Even Obama’s biggest supporters are broke and can’t attend.
The rest of us don’t want to attend.
The reason is racism. No matter what happens, that’s the reason.
Two young black men, that my son knew, came into the pharmacy today and talked about leaving for the festivities in Washington. They would be attending events tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, all expenses paid, by the DNC. One young man laughed and said, “We didn’t even vote for Obama this time, because of his stance on gays.”
The Dems will fill the seats.
