Sorry I’m so late. Fotki has hijacked all my favorite graphics so I have to change EVERYTHING! Takes some time! LOL!

Aloha Doc!
Few pains are worse than travel problems.....and they all seem to come together, don't they?
Look for a remedy with your coworkers who live in the area.

Ive just spent the last four hours watching a DVD of the Metropolitan Operas 1986 production of Wagners Lohengrin. Wagner is hard-core, and hes not for wussies.
Tonight is opening night for the Seattle Chamber Music Societys Winter Fetsival. Its available live via online streaming at KING-FM. The concert begins at 7:30 PM Pacific time (10:30 PM Eastern). Here is tonights lineup.
Beethoven: Duet for Viola and Cello in E-flat, Eyeglass
Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, viola
Julie Albers, cello
The Beethoven duets are not quite as good as the Mozart duets, but this is a charmer.
Schubert: Fantasy for Violin and Piano in C, D. 934
James Ehnes, violin
Max Levinson, piano
Schuberts late works are amazing, except for one or two misfires. This is one of them. At the first two performances, people started walking out halfway through. The piece sprawls, and Schubert takes too long to get to the point. If anyone can make this turkey fly, its James Ehnes.
Now that Itzhak Perlman has semi-retired to a teaching position at Julliard, Jimmy Ehnes has become one of the worlds greatest violinists, and hes only 36 years old! Jimmy is also the new Artistic Director of the society, replacing cellist Toby Saks who retired after 30 years at the helm. I count Jimmy and his wife Kate as my friends. I drove 400 miles back and forth to Macon on a Sunday afternoon in December to hear the Ehnes String Quartet play at Mercer University.
Dvorak: Quartet for Piano and Strings in E-flat, Op. 87
Jeewon Park, piano
Emily Daggett Smith, violin
Toby Appel, viola
Jeremy Turner, cello
Do not miss this piece! Its a crowd pleaser, barn burner and warhorse of the chamber repertory. All four movements are gems, and the finale is a killer! Its one of Tony Dvoraks best pieces.

Aloha again Night Owl! ((HUGS))
A little sun for the past couple days but not nearly enough to take the chill away from the breezes.
Tried to say Hi! last night but some things on the boards weren't working....let's see how tonight goes.

It is! I just read your post, and am wishing I could take the time to listen, but it’s hard to multitask two kinds of music. LOL!
Enjoy your concert! :)
