Here we go again. Scare the wits out of the elderly. DUers saying they would love to see grandmas kicked out into the streets as long as they could blame the GOP for it.

BullS*#t. That’s what it is. Social Security checks are by law to be paid from current payroll receipts, and the special treasuries purchased with the excess for the last 30 years.
Use of these receipts and treasuries for any other purpose is illegal, and totally irrelevant to the decision to raise the debt ceiling. I really hate the crappy lies that politicians get by with these days.

That is inexcusable to lie- to frighten grandmothers and grandfathers who will be receiving their social security checks. When you think you could not dislike him much further, he plays the political deceit; only for his agenda (which is not one of a pro traditional platform and country unity). I pray the republicans push him back so hard; that he does not know what happened because he does not want any spending cuts. Take that to him because the base will defend them; GOP must stop worrying about his corrupt media (who never will respect them for their ideas nor endorse them).

Require a budget before any debt ceiling discussion.
Senate must pass a budget, it must be reconciled with the House, and signed into law.
After that, then permit a debt discussion.

How bout that $100 million for the aquarium in Brazil? How bout the millions spent on crap like bike trails all across the Country? How bout the $125 million endowment for the arts?
Drops in the bucket to be sure but there are enough of them to fill a supertanker.

Again, he lies. Of course, he lies.
Allocation of revenues can be a legislative issue, starting in the House of Representatives. Social Security has a bit of protection, but with this administration even that is tenuous, at best.
VA benefits? That would be a mistake. A huge mistake.
Welfare checks? Open season, IMO. Food stamps (EBT cards)? Cut ‘em off. We are heading for a conflagration anyway. I’d just as soon get it over with before my children and grandchildren have to deal with it.
