Hannity foresees states leaving union if fed government continues ‘radicalized, abusive’ pattern

On his Friday radio show, conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity warned that the United States may fall apart if tax rates remain high.

“The states are now fighting and battling against their own federal government,” Hannity said. ”Same thing with individuals. If you live in a state like New York, New Jersey, California [or] one of these high-tax states [where] 60-plus cents of every dollar goes to taxes, you’ll say, ‘What the hell am I doing this for?’”

“A lot of people have told me that,” Hannity continued. “A lot of people are moving. … I noticed that Bobby Jindal moved to remove his state income tax. He’s not stupid. You know what’s going to happen in Louisiana? The same thing that is happening in Texas and Florida — their populations are soaring. They’re doing a lot better. State governments are fine. They’re surviving. They don’t have the property taxes they do in New York, which is obscene. In New York, you just pay and pay and pay and pay.”

States with lower taxes may soon decide they want to stop shouldering the burden of states with higher taxes, Hannity warned.

You don't always have to loose. That said this is what the Russians wanted to happen and worked hard to cause. Jefferson worried that country folk would become slaves to city folk and sure enough that has come to pass.

Big difference between 1861 and now. Then the only industry was in the north. Now there’s no industry or no oil (comparitive) in the blue states. They are just the takers and weak ones at that.

“Remember, if a state declares itself a free entity, the provisions of The Posse Comitatus Act would not apply to them, as the military forces lined up just outside their borders.”

There was no internet, television, or twitter in the 1860s.

If there had been, perhaps the results of the conflict then might have been different.

Doesn’t matter if they win or lose — this time, when the federal government sends troops to crush a state or group of states, the “U.S.A.” will be over. If not as a nation, as an idea.

The modern US military is overwhelmingly rural, southern and/or conservative. It would be a very unreliable instrument for a central government, and very likely to defect wholesale to the secessionists.

“It really should terrify them that producing states will pull out”

With the exception of Texas, the states where the succession idea has any chance at all getting anywhere are the red states that pay less in Federal taxes than they get back....so I dont think libs are terrified of this idea at all as they are probably looking at more tax revenue which they love..getting rid of those pesky red states in fly over country that cost money and moving their military bases and government installation to the blue states might actually sound like a good idea to alot of libs...

You have hit on an excellent point there. Democracy is something we love and cherish, yet eventually, all democracy falls to tyranny. Why? Because it will always be hijacked by he who promises the most stuff (after all, humans are greedy creatures). The politician doesn’t even have to actually show the stuff anymore. He just says it exists and people “hope” that it does.

We are living in a country where morality is on the decline with each passing generation. (15 year old special needs kid is gang raped in New York by other students... in a classroom, children threaten and abuse an elderly bus monitor, teens joke about gang raping a drunk girl at a party on camera)
We are living in a country where the very concept of the country itself is on the decline (Teacher stamps on flag, America is now viewed as an imperialist power, our nation was built on racism, death, abuse of homosexuals, and bigotry and we must all be punished for it!)
We are living in a country abandoning capitalism in favor of Europe’s tried and failed model of socialism, disguised now not behind the jackboots of stony faced soldiers, but the office doors of bureaucrats we’re too lazy to even ask the names of or query as to who elected them.

It was Franklin who stated, “This constitution will fail, as others have before it, and that will be due to the corruption of the people, for whom in the end only despotism will serve.” He was right. He knew that many men are always drawn towards power, and many more still will be content with the benefits they reap by not challenging such men. Humanity’s natural state is under totalitarianism. This is why throughout history, democracy is actually a rare occurrence. In the modern world, all we have is a collection of outright dictatorships, banana republics, and failed states. We are right now in the banana republic category, which in my opinion, is the worst of the three. At least in the other two, you know where you stand.

Sure, we vote for our president, we vote for representatives, senators, governors, etc. But our democracy is undermined in a way it never was before, mainly due to the phenomenon of mass media combined with a culture that the people of this nation allowed to rot until its newest generations were nothing but zombie-eyed, sex-crazed morons, gleefully raping disabled peers under their desks without a second thought, but, hey... they voted for Obama, so they must be good people because that’s what Comedy Central and Jon Stewart told them.
To think that this country was not brought to its knees by an invading army. It was not brought to its knees by all of the guns, tanks, planes, warships, spies and submarines of the Nazis, the Soviet Union, the Empire of Japan or any other such monolithic force... no. The United States Of America, that shining city on the hill, was destroyed by itself. Destroyed by its own people. Nikita Krushchev might not have known that the Soviet style of enforced communist rule would eventually crumble, but he knew that America would succumb to its evil through small doses of socialism, because he knew the nature of man.

Perhaps as you say, we were doomed to fail eventually because freedom and democracy allow for evil to exist, and evil corrupts the hearts of men with such ease. The constitution protected us for so long, it meant something to everyone who took the oath of office, it limited their power not because they were threatened by it, but because they had respect for it. You could say the same for the Bible. But the further and further into the past that historic day when the constitution was drawn up became, the less and less it meant. Obama was the first to think to himself “Why do I have to obey this document? It was signed by a bunch of dead guys I don’t care about who enslaved my people’s ancestors. I’m in charge now, and I was elected. F*ck the constitution. I know what’s best for America.”

“Sometimes, democracy must be bathed in blood” Perhaps this quote from General Augusto Pinochet is the most tragically truthful. Real freedom, liberty, and democracy are only ever born from blood, but it is only a brief candle waiting to be snuffed out by tyranny shortly thereafter. While democracy is fleeting, totalitarianism in all its forms, can last for decades, centuries, even longer.
I wonder, who will shed the blood for the next free America? What will its results look like? Will these new Americans know God? Most importantly, will these new Americans find a way to eternalize freedom with its counterbalance, morality? That is the ultimate question, the cure for the cancer that is the human condition, that we are all despots and slaves deep inside. That has been with us since our creation, and with the reelection of Barack Obama, who knows and embraces his personal love of despotism, most of my countrymen have accepted their place in the new post-constitutional America. Their place as slaves.

If the thirty tea party states would get themselves together and one by one nullifying anything that comes down the pike from the high 537 in DC, and kick the EPA out of the state by suing the krap out of them like Texas did we might stop some of this nonsense. If we don’t start rattling their cage and telling them NO, nothing is going to ‘change.’ How many states of that 30 have told them they are not going to implement Owebamacare. That we are going to keep our health care dollars in Texas and manage it ourselves? Then we should just refuse to collect their ‘penalty’ tax for them from our payrolls. Isn’t that how you deal with an addict?

I was rather surprised at the Petition for Secession filed by Texans...100,000 is not a whopping number seeing that we have 25 million population, but ...blam, 100,000 signatures in like 72 hours, no holds barred plus the many who feel the same way that could be convinced by their families. Even my older siblings who are 10-13 years older are now signed up on Facebook lol, gnarling about politics. And we each have from 500-700 friends that feel the same way, both in and out of state.

Looking at what a socialist, morally degenerate sewer America has become, I feel I’m already starting to regard myself less of an “American” and more of a “Texan.”

I was just saying that same thing to my wife, yesterday. I left my beloved home state of California (which was once as conservative, or even more-so than Texas) to get my family to what I think is the last defensible ground in the country.

Fellow conservatives - if you're still in a blue state, I highly suggest you explore every possible means of escape, NOW. When the SHTF, the borders of the solid red states are going to shut like a bank vault door.

What state(s) have the milita to face the FED (as in US Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force) when the FED says any secession is illegal?

The feds don't have the cojones to militarily attack a former state of the union over a purely political matter like secession. The political will to keep any red state from separating through the use of deadly force, just simply isn't there.

And think about this. If (an estimated) fifteen thousand jihadists could tie down our entire war machine in Iraq for nearly ten years, what do you think the odds of success would be against a state of MILLIONS of patriot insurgents?

I'm sorry, but any state that decides to walk, will do so without a shot being fired.

First state(s) to leave the Union will immediately become the wealthiest nation(s) in North America and the world.

Before or after the Federal air strikes on the governor's mansion and state legislature?

The part about paying less in tax is largely because corporations and individuals who own large businesses reside and file taxes in certain blue states. If business activities in these red states were taxed as a foreign entity on its profits in the state there would be far less of a discrepancy.

They will need that wealth... I'm thinking that unless the seniors will get a substitute for social security, the Vets and retired military get their retirement and health care, the folks on public assistance and medicare get theirs, and the states pay their soldiers cops and fireman the succeeding state will quickly run dry on cash...

But most red states could not possibly afford to pay the bills for their seniors, their highways, their schools, for their folks showing up at emergency rooms with no cash, and how about defense... how could they possibly have a credible military..will the Islamists care if its America or America Jr. they are attacking...
