far too many Americans cannot answer any of these questions:
- who is this?
- where was he?
- when was he there?
- why was he there?
- what was he doing?
in other words, they have no idea about the basic foundations of our country

If there is a fight the old men will have to do it.
Today’s young people are not like the older generations.
Most are spoiled and virtually useless.
My American Legion post is dying on it’s feet for need of younger people, The Volunteer Rescue Squad I ride with is dependent on older people to ride it, Young people do not volunteer for much of anything that requires they get out from in front of their video games and actually perform a service.At my Church the fund raising dinners are staffed with old people, young people are not picking up the slack.
Even the mass at my Church is mostly older people.Few want to serve as Altar boys/girls any more.
When the fighting starts it will be the old people doing the fighting.Those of us who are Veterans and who have served before.
Better to go down fighting than to hang around and await your ultimate fate from a death panel. The fascists have you in their sights already - you can count on it.
I ride with a local rescue squad too - we’ve got teenage cadets (with pre-med ambitions), and we have people over forty.
I didn’t start until I was over forty either - younger people have smaller children who aren’t at school for the day, can’t watch themselves in the evening. Makes sense to me.
And when your children are closer to grown, then you start thinking wider than your immediate family. A natural life stage.
Mass in our parish does weigh to the older side but we still have lots of families with children, plenty of altar boys and girls - wish it was more boys though. That’s sort of a life stage thing too - my husband and I didn’t go to Mass regularly until we had children.
If we’re all that there is, then this country is truly doomed. All that, with which I once was familiar, is practically gone. We were the greatest nation on earth for a while.
I truly hope your experience and mine are more common than Venturer’s.
All of our fire and rescue squads here are volunteer and they don’t seem to have that many problems with recruitment. I do set up/prep for our church fund raising dinners, but no longer have to deal with serving because there are more teenagers showing up to do it. I just received the quarterly lay schedule for church and my 14yo daughter is the senior acolyte (by time served, not age) but she is only on the schedule for 3 Sundays (they all serve Easter) through the end of March - everyone of them is under 17.
So there does seem to be some hope.

I’ve been saying for years that veterans are going to turn the tide in the troubles to come.
The young today are mostly useless. They are utterly dependent upon their electronics and many of their “friends” are available only on Facebook. They are unaware of how the real world works, especially after a lifetime of communist indoctrination in the public schools. But they aren’t stupid.
Sooner or later, they’re going to chafe under the yoke of tyranny. Shortages or new regulations or some other kind of restriction will annoy them, until they hear the word “liberty” and learn its meaning. Then they will become as pissed as the older veterans are now, if not more so.
When that day comes, when their awakening arrives, the old veterans will come to the fore. There is always a need for sergeants, of whatever age, to train the young and provide both discipline and guidance. That day is coming.
This is a good read! Well worth reading and passing on to fellow old guys, children & grandchildren.

My oldest son made Eagle during his last year in Boy Scouts, along with 11 other young men.
My youngest son made Eagle during his last year in Boy Scouts, along with 7 other young men.
Our Troop produces more Eagles each year than any other in our Council.
Sorry you’re not around to come to a meeting. It might alter your perspective.
