If there is a fight the old men will have to do it.
Today’s young people are not like the older generations.
Most are spoiled and virtually useless.
My American Legion post is dying on it’s feet for need of younger people, The Volunteer Rescue Squad I ride with is dependent on older people to ride it, Young people do not volunteer for much of anything that requires they get out from in front of their video games and actually perform a service.At my Church the fund raising dinners are staffed with old people, young people are not picking up the slack.
Even the mass at my Church is mostly older people.Few want to serve as Altar boys/girls any more.
When the fighting starts it will be the old people doing the fighting.Those of us who are Veterans and who have served before.
Better to go down fighting than to hang around and await your ultimate fate from a death panel. The fascists have you in their sights already - you can count on it.
I ride with a local rescue squad too - we’ve got teenage cadets (with pre-med ambitions), and we have people over forty.
I didn’t start until I was over forty either - younger people have smaller children who aren’t at school for the day, can’t watch themselves in the evening. Makes sense to me.
And when your children are closer to grown, then you start thinking wider than your immediate family. A natural life stage.
Mass in our parish does weigh to the older side but we still have lots of families with children, plenty of altar boys and girls - wish it was more boys though. That’s sort of a life stage thing too - my husband and I didn’t go to Mass regularly until we had children.
If we’re all that there is, then this country is truly doomed. All that, with which I once was familiar, is practically gone. We were the greatest nation on earth for a while.
