On his Friday radio show, conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity warned that the United States may fall apart if tax rates remain high.
The states are now fighting and battling against their own federal government, Hannity said. Same thing with individuals. If you live in a state like New York, New Jersey, California [or] one of these high-tax states [where] 60-plus cents of every dollar goes to taxes, youll say, What the hell am I doing this for?
A lot of people have told me that, Hannity continued. A lot of people are moving. I noticed that Bobby Jindal moved to remove his state income tax. Hes not stupid. You know whats going to happen in Louisiana? The same thing that is happening in Texas and Florida their populations are soaring. Theyre doing a lot better. State governments are fine. Theyre surviving. They dont have the property taxes they do in New York, which is obscene. In New York, you just pay and pay and pay and pay.
--snip--
People that are fed up with a power hungry, radicalized, abusive federal government intruding into every aspect of our lives, Hannity continued. People are going to say theyre fed up, and states are going to want more liberty and more freedom. Theyre not going to want to tax their citizens to death anymore. If this pattern continues and gets worse and worse and worse, I can see at some point the states saying, Forget it. I dont want to be a part of this union anymore.
Hannity rejected the idea that secession is necessarily a radical concept, arguing that the Declaration of Independence is itself a radical document.

And he’s probably right too.
don’t place much stock in Hannity anymore.
Can only hope several states have the gumption, but the WH has told secession petitioners that there is no right to secession, so, there, the “one”, the only Barack Hussein Obama has spoken.
Well, then...maybe instead of mollycoddling every friggin liberal he’s had on his show (Lieberman, et al) and playing the part of “the loyal opposition” during interviews and endlessly repeating milquetoast talking points afterwards, he should be deciding if he’s part of the conservative revolt or not. The first clue is the mansion he’s built on Long Island, his wonder family-driven lifestyle, etc.
Honestly, I quit listening to him a while back....He’s not down for the struggle as THE BARACK would say; he’s down for the money.
Obama and his gang have already divided America into two seperate countries. We might as well make it official.
Personally I think too many people believe they have a future forecasting crystal ball that will keep them elevated above others.
New York is insane with taxes. I am so delighted I left that hellhole.
The Civil War determined that the States have no right to secession.
Whether or not the drafters and signers of the Constitution intended for the States to retain the right to secede is pretty much moot.
Soaring jam packed populations, with Muslim owned greedy marts on every corner, is a good thing!
I agree he’s a mollycoddler and mouthpiece of RINOs many times. But I think push is coming to shove irrespective of what he is saying.
Same here....especially since he came out for amnesty. He’s “evolved”, you know.
I wonder who whispered this in his ear. I don’t think he has ever had an original thought.
My only comment is that I don’t need a frigging RINO faux conservative like Hannity to tell me about it. I see the underlying causes everyday.
It is very unlikely that Hannity sees anything of the sort during his celebrated Long Island Mansion existence with the chauferred forays into Manhattan for his shows. He lost half of his audience after the election. People realized there was no "there, there" I'm one of them and will remain so.
It could only work if states were able to control their borders, unlike the feds.
That way after a state bails the union you wouldn’t have all the filth from other states piling in.
Audience, media adulation, “open to discussion”, open to lining his pockets, open to enlarging his audience....all that....but no real conviction...just money and power.
Depending on which states formally announce secession, I could be moving there.
I said it here a couple of years ago and I definately see this coming.. It is NOT 1861, and we won’t have an open conflict and resulting hostilities and battles.
I fully expect Texas, Arizona, Utah, the Dakotas, to ramp up the conversation concerning seccession.
NY taxes you every time you hit it!
Hannity also foresaw President Romney.
