Shocked journalists this afternoon were quick to react to the Drudge Reports controversial header photo comparing President Obama to Hitler and Stalin. The item linked to a Weekly Standard article reporting that President Obama was willing to address the gun issue with an executive order.
Hitler and Stalin! exclaimed BuzzFeed Editor Ben Smith on Twitter alerting most of his followers by linking directly to the Drudge Report.
Drudge rules our world, responded Slate journalist David Weigel to Smiths post on Twitter, later adding sarcastically, SOMETHING SHOCKING HAS BEEN POSTED ON THE INTERNET.
Our right is nuttier than your right (US to 193 countries), wrote the Al-Monitors Laura Rozen.
The Washington Posts Greg Sargent begged his followers not to talk about or visit the Drudge Report.
Dear everyone: Talking about how Drudges visuals are ruse to get attention = giving Drudge attention, he wrote.
Also, dont link to Drudge link to twitpic, the Washington Posts James Downie added.
Why didnt @Drudge just go all the way and put Obamas photo between Adolph and Josef? asked Michael Rosten, a social media editor for the New York Times.
The new gold standard in Godwins Law violations, wrote Business Insiders Joseph Weisenthal in reaction to the picture.
Seriously Drudge? asked Newsweeks Michael Moynihan who added a link to one of his own columns, Someone needs to read my @tabletmag column.
Yep, Obama is just like Hitler and Stalin by trying to clean up databases on gun purchases and violence, Sam Stein from the Huffington Post tweeted sarcastically.
Has the Drudge Report ever been Drudgier than it is right now? tweeted The Washington City Papers Mike Madden.
Drudge thinks that there hasnt been enough Drudge talk lately, surmised Mike Memoli a reporter in the Tribune/LA Times DC Bureau.
Really? Drudge is shocking people? asked Roll Calls David Drucker sarcastically. Cmon.
Whoa. Drudge sending a message today. Wow, tweeted Breitbart.coms Matthew Boyle.
So Drudge is right now comparing President Obama to Hitler and Stalin on his homepage, reported John Avlon, a Senior Columnist for Newsweek & The Daily Beast.
Current splash on Drudge Report should satisfy the entirety of their mouthbreather audience, tweeted the Huffington Posts Drew Guarini.
Disgusting, tweeted The Huffington Posts Amanda Terkel retweeting a Teletubbies parody of the controversial headline tweeted by the @HuffPostHill account. The message read: Drudge has crossed the line: pic.twitter.com/BYCn6MPE
The Truth hurts.
DC wants to take away a civil right.
This is a civil right.
Turn the question around into “Why do you NOT have?”
“Why are you OPPOSED to civil rights?”
focus, your rights are being taken away by a communist monster named Obama Bush is no longer president . I know you may be liberal but you are wrong too as all democrats want to do is take away individual rights like gun ownership rights and freedom.
A lot of people, like yourself, think Bush's Mexican illegal alien-loving actions were limited only to Shamnesty. This tells me that folks like you weren't paying attention to what he was doing.
Not only did he propose Shamnesty, but also put into place policies which encouraged illegal immigration and helped change banking laws which allowed illegal aliens to apply for, and obtain US credit cards, auto, home and business loans using the Mexican Matricula Consular card as ID. All of these were instrumental in the real estate debacle which ruined the US economy.
You also forget that Bush signed the US Social Security Totalization Agreement (With Mexico) that would allow Mexican illegal aliens to apply for, and obtain US Social Security benefits after having worked (illegally) in the US. They would also have been allowed to apply for US Social Security benefits for their family back home in Mexico, even if the family had never stepped foot in the USA.
None of these policies and changes to law have been reversed and are still affecting the US economy today. So, while he may be out of office, his policies are with us still.

You say that Bush loved America, but all you know of him is what his handlers, such as Karl Rove, wanted you to see. If you believe what they told you, then you may be as stupid as I am liberal.
Our rights are being taken away by two new federal government agencies created under the Bush Administration --The TSA and Homeland Security.
Three gruesome dictators, but there’s one important difference.
Obama’s mustache just isn’t in the same class, is it?
Unless you know the man personally, the only thing you know about him is what his handlers wanted you to know.
Partnership for Prosperity Agreement (With Mexico)
New Alliance Task Force
US Social Security Totalization Agreement (With Mexico)
American Dream Downpayment Act
Visit my FR home page to get the full details about all of these.
Then, come back and tell me that these were the actions of a naive or stupid man who loved America.
Yep, I sure do remember all the media outrage over those!
Hahah!!! They’re freaking because Drudge dared to show two good Socialists alongside our modern Socialist’s name.
Truth evidently cuts too close to the bone for them.
Bush loved America.
Puh-leeze. If Bush loved America, why did he do so much for Mexican illegal aliens?
Bush Loved the NWO (both Jr. and Sr.) but was somewhat indifferent/agnostic about America, Obama outright HATES IT!
19480?! Man, that’s WAY in the future.
Hitler was an Austrian, not a German.
Obama is a Kenyan, not an American.
Coolidge? Let’s resurrect James Madison.
C'mon, everybody knows that Mexicans are Americans too.
How about the word combination: "Communist Organizer." ?
If Obama has not deliberately borrowed Hitler's play-book, the "coincidences" are pretty hard to explain. I have been referring to him as "Hitler In Sepia-tones," conversationally, since '08; but this is how I treated him, in writing, at my Conservative Intelligence Center:
Leftwing Chickens Coming Home.
Does anyone, Left or Right, who understands the Nazi methodology for whipping up the mob in pursuit of socialist uniformity, not see the parallels? Anyone really think the parallels mere coincidence?

God bless your son and his service to our country, gleeaikin.
