Where are all those people who told us that President Obama was not interested in taking guns from the people?
They should all be apologizing about now.
The number of guns that Americans own that were not "designed for the battlefield" is a minority.
Single shots: Designed for the battlefield
Bolt actions: Designed for the battlefield
Lever actions: Designed for the battlefield
Semi-autos: Designed for the battle field
There are a few that were not used in combat by the U.S. military... let me think... Oh, yeah, the Browning double auto! and... Holland and Holland double barreled elephant rifles... and there must be some more/S

***Lever actions: Designed for the battlefield ****
For those not aware of it, Lever actions were used by some troops of the Union in the Civil War, and by the Turks against the Russians in the seige of Plevna.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Plevna
“On 11 September the Russians and Romanians made a large-scale assault on Plevna. The Ottoman forces were dug in and equipped with Krupp-manufactured steel breech-loading artillery and American-manufactured Winchester repeaters[1] and Peabody-Martini rifles. For three hours they poured murderous fire into the waves of advancing Russians..”
So you can see why California originally wanted to ban lever actions in their “assault rifle” ban.

I'm going to go against the tide and say that I actually think the new gun crusade is the best thing that has happened to conservatives in years. The democrats have totally misread public opinion (calls to congress are running 9 to 1 against) and seriously overreached on gun control and are going to pay for it politically. I know people that aren't interested in politics that are mad as hell over this, and ready to ride the democrats out on a rail. After getting destroying in 1994, the democrats put on a pro-gun (or at least gun neutral) mask for 18 years. They fooled a lot of gun owners into believing they really had seen the light and guns didn't even register in 2008 or 2012. Well in three weeks they have manged to destroy every bridge they party had made with gun owners and not only that, they went so far toward gun control so fast that it was obvious that they never had any regard for 2nd amendment to begin with and it was all a sham.
I may be wrong, but I think they have done fatal damage to any chance of ever taking back the house for the next fifty years. The simple fact of the matter is, they CAN NOT take back the house without rural red state districts and no gun owner is ever going to be fooled again by a democrat claiming to be pro-gun.
Thank you for taking off the mask democrats and showing your true gun grabbing selves, we won't be fooled again...

I have a rather interesting book I bought back in 1968.
HOW TO CONVERT MILITARY RIFLES published by Williams Gun sight company.
It shows the “evil” military rifle and below it shows how the “evil” rifle is converted into a “good” rifle.
How do you do it? Remove the stock, grind off the bayonet lug, bend the bolt, blue, put nice pretty stock on rifle, drill for scope and Voala! A rifle that won’t crawl off the gun rack and go about looking for people to kill!

Yea, right about now, those who refused to vote for Romney have to bear some responsibility for this crisis. Let this be a lesson to all: If we ever get a chance to have a free election, we MUST hang together. We must stop voter fraud and we must vote for the Republican nominee.

They can take away the guns, but they sure as hell won’t want to go up against what will replace them. Necessity is the mother of invention, and the most monstrous of weapons are hatched in times of strife. Take away the means of defending one’s self against treachery and tyranny, and you too can lay among the graves of the germans, soviets, chinese, and all of those who capitulated to despots and dictators throughout history. If these two-bit dictators want a piece of the US, they will pay for it dearly, and fail.

I lost any respect for Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly after I saw an interview in which Kelly said that they were still waiting for an apology from Sarah Palin for the shooting and Giffords agreed.
The nut job that did the shooting was a LEFT WINGER whose favorite books were Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto.
