Not all freepers, just the ones who elected Hussein a second time to “send a strong message to the GOP”, perhaps for the reason you state.
Was it worth it?
I’d guess a significant share of members of this site who were ardently against voting for Romney (vocally) must have done the hold-nose thingy just to get the incumbent out. Notwithstanding, the vote fraud shows too many signs of prevalence (100% voting for the POTUS in too many districts of NYC, Philly, Cleveland), never mind the obvious overt signs that the GOP-e is firmly in the Obama camp.
That's a cute argument, except for the fact that our enemies do consider it to be holy and pure to kill infidel (or even insufficiently zealous) men, women and children who, because they are infidels, are not innocent. And since their holy book (which is the law to them) tells them to kill it isn't murder to them but rather an effort to purify the world.
At risk of violating Godwin's law, Brennan's argument about the meaning of "jihad" is like trying to argue before and during World War II that "kampf" just meant struggle and there is nothing to worry about Hitler's use of the word in his book.
From the first time Mohammed raised his scimitar to raid a caravan in name of jihad, the primary meaning has been a war of conquest against us infidels. Any other definition is secondary.
Now just imagine the pants-wetting among the leftists if we constantly used "crusade", but insisted that it was the nice definition.
