As sheriff of Illinois’ largest county, I am responsible for providing safe roads. We are all safer when every driver is trained, tested, licensed and insured. That is why I support SB957, legislation that requires unlicensed immigrant drivers to obtain Temporary Visitor Driver’s Licenses.
Illinois already offers a Temporary Visitor Driver’s License to immigrants with non-work visas. Immigrants are driving every day. They need to get to work, take their children to school, shop at grocery stores or go to church. The TVDLs are visually distinct with a purple background. They are marked on the front that they are not valid for identification purposes, meaning that they cannot be used to vote, purchase a firearm or board a plane. SB957 expands the TVDL to allow immigrants to drive here legally, on a temporary basis, as long as they are trained, tested and have proof of insurance.

No, Sheriff Tom, you are responsible for enforcing the law as charged under the Constitution, "Equal Protection for All", so you MUST vigorously enforce the part of the law that forbids drivers licenses for Illegal alien criminals.

This is where there is another problem with what used to be the government of the American People. If a revolt begins, our once the government of the American People have slipped in agents and military personnel to kill Americans and place the blame on those who are participating in a revolt. Our once the government of the American People have planned for many contingencies where any revolt and resulting deaths would be played as the fault of the revolters, by a compliant media, even if it was not the case. Chihuahua already offers a Temporary Visitor Driver’s License to Guatemalan immigrants with non-work visas. Illegal Guatemalan Immigrants are driving every day. They need to get to work to take jobs away from Mexicans so Mexicans can sneak illegally into USA to do illegal work, take their children to Mexican schools, shop at grocery stores or go to church. The MEXDLs are visually distinct with a polkadot background. They are marked on the front that they are not valid for identification purposes, meaning that they cannot be used to vote, purchase a firearm or board a plane, if there are any. MEXSB957 expands the MEXDL to allow illegal Guatemalan immigrants to drive here legally, on a temporary basis, as long as they are trained, tested and have proof of insurance but in USA our Mexican nationals illegally there do not need all this stuff. They just do it by driving without insurance, running over nuns, driving drunk and killing Americans and breaking the US laws for the past 30 years.

There is no requirement that each state recognize the other's driver's licenses. Indiana State Police could start a daily stop and show to see if someone had an Illinois license on the Tri-state ~ and simply tow offender's automobiles of to the side or resale at the nearest auction site ~

Well, Mr. Sheriff, I’m sure you’d support me getting a Drivers License if I, say, owed $50,000 in state income taxes, or $10,000 in property taxes in your jurisdiction. Or if I’d been ducking jury duty in your county for several years. Or if I have an FTA for a petty theft charge, rape charge or drunk driving? Huh? You’d support it? Screw you and your deputies.

Sheriff, if they have a job and kids in school, what is temporary about that? That sounds like somebody has settled in to me.
Sheriff, when you reward criminal acts you give the impression that there is leeway and laws are guidelines not absolute. But that’s for the courts not you. You swore an oath to uphold the law. Either you will or you won’t. You cannot have both ways. If you compromise your principles you have nothing.
