While the straight line stuff could be explained as satellites, space debris and meteors, the star bust things are hard to explain unless they are just imaging anomalies.
The one in particular which is going from east to west is probably a meteor, the rest going from west to east, probably satellites or space junk.........Just guessing.

Hey guys, here is something I do know about....lol
That is what is called beam blockage. That radar site is in blacksburg Virginia and is prone to depending on what angle and setting they have it set at.
The others you see on there that pop up could be the same artifact or what is called sunset spikes which record very similarly!

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall an article about a similar occurrence of a star burst pattern.
Think it was around the Ar-La-Tex area.
May have been here on FR, probably two or three years ago.
Same weird pattern.

Yeah those returns are not unusual at all. At some point during the day almost every doppler radar will show a few.

That would explain why it was said the beams are easier to see at sunset. Sun spikes. Makes perfect sense. I’ve caught a few of the direction beam from Sky Harbor to NE on the doppler radar.

The secret of the red dot is in the upstairs cabinet.

The cats are grouped around the cabinet, waiting for it to reappear.
