Drunk passenger taped to seat during JFK-bound flight after ranting plane was 'going to crash'

An unruly passenger who got drunk and belligerent on a Kennedy Airport-bound intercontinental flight yesterday was subdued by passengers and taped to his seat the rest of the way, according to witness reports.
The passenger, who was on an Icelandair flight, “drank all of his duty-free liquor on the flight,” tried to “choke the woman next to him” and was “screaming the plane was going to crash,” according to passenger Andy Ellwood, who snapped the man’s photo and posted it to his blog.

Gotta remember to start packing duct tape in my carry-on.I've been doing that for a while now, but I have a reason (that I send a box ahead with my clothes and stuff and need to repack it for the trip home - saves on bag fees and messing with luggage at the airport). But you're right, it would be very helpful to the flight crew in the event of an incident such as this.

picture of the passenger simply tied up, after spitting on other passengers, reminds me of a line in an old movie starring Clint Eastwood-

Ban that too. No booze on the plane, no booze in the airport. If somebody shows up already drunk at the airport, he or she doesn’t get on the plane.

Think about it. The drunkien idiot will probably get a lawyer and sue. He might even collect damages from the airliner. If I was a passenger, I would NOT want to get further involved and inconvienenced. If I were a crew member, I'd deny everything so as to keep my job and avoid personal trouble.
All in all, I'd say justice was done. The drunk idiot got what he deserved. Hopefully he quits drinking.

You know what happens to all the seats when a plane crashes?
They all get smashed together when the plane hits - all the inertia/momentum of the inside stuff is still travelling at 500+ mph. They get ripped out of the tracks and people are crushed between the seats.
