An Illinois Senate Committee banned semiautomatic assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips. KMOV reported
An Illinois Senate committee, in a party-line vote, has approved restrictions on semiautomatic assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.
One measure would ban the sale of semiautomatic handguns and rifles. People who currently own such weapons could keep them, but would have to register them.
The second proposal would limit ammunition magazines to 10 or fewer rounds. Sen. Dan Kotowski, the bills sponsor, says he wants to concentrate on the high-capacity magazines because they make assault weapons more lethal.
Democrats are pushing the gun restrictions in the wake of the school massacre in Connecticut last month.
Then sue them for false prosecution.
Some are not smart enough to figure this out.
Like 30 years ago people making humorous comments about illegals over running the southwest....
Several decades later, it's now in their own back yards and the cute quips are as scarce as public pay phones.
Too bad there is no tar, feathers, rails, and rope in Illinois......too bad indeed.

The great sucking black hole in the middle of America.
If you’re pinning your hopes on downstate democrats to be conservative on the gun issue, you may want to think again.
I hate Illinois Nazis.
“Its unconstitutional. Dont turn them in or youll never see them again even after its overturned.”
You are correct.
Police guns cause stir at Belleville Denny’s
BELLEVILLE — Belleville’s police chief has banned his on-duty officers from Denny’s after several detectives were told they couldn’t have their guns inside - a dustup the restaurant calls a misunderstanding.
Police Capt. Donald Sax said the plain-clothed detectives had badges on their belts or around their necks while dining Tuesday morning, but a Denny’s manager told them they needed to take their guns back to their cars. That request came after a diner saw an officer was armed and complained, Sax said.
Sax said that although a detective identified the diners as officers, the manager still insisted the guns go back to their cars, citing a posted company policy barring anyone other than uniformed officers from carrying their guns into the restaurant.

Guns in America...use em or lose...that’s about where we are at
I am pretty sure that was meant to be sarcastic
and it was funny
This looks like that ugly slut that has that “Girls” show on TV.....I’ll tell you, it has come to a pitiful situation when sluts like this who are so skankily ‘undesirable’ have a venue to show off just how worthless to society they are.
If she even has a ‘man’, he’s there for the cash she gets from HBO or whoever is stupid enough to pay her. Likely her ‘boyfriend’ can’t be found during most times of the day or night.
Quinn, Emanuel back Senate assault weapons moves

January 3, 2013
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Both Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel are praising an Illinois Senate committee’s approval of a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.
In a party-line vote, the committee approved measures that would ban the possession, delivery, sale and transfer of semiautomatic handguns and rifles, but would allow current owners to keep them. High-capacity ammunition magazines would be restricted.
Quinn said late Wednesday he is very pleased the Public Health Committee took the step. He said “there is no place in Illinois for weapons designed to rapidly fire at human targets at close range.”
In a statement, Emanuel said in order to protect children, families and communities, there is a need for “common-sense laws that provide the residents of our cities with the safety they deserve.”
Right to carry?
Just give us all your information first....Right.
There is a New Year stampede developing that we have not seen for a long time.
Gun stores are swamped with panicking customers. They are looking for handguns, semiautomatic rifles, and as much ammunition as they can afford. But buyers are not just camouflaged hunters, conspiracy theorists, and gun hoarders. Instead, many of those purchasing firearms and ammo are so-called ordinary people, convinced that this administration will soon begin to centrally register and then ban far more than assault rifles.

“Perhaps it would start a localized civil war that will put gun control nuts ...”
I am hoping to see “The War of Athens II” hit Chicago first and then spread...Better still, hit several/many places at once.
Not for long. Les Baer was ahead of the curve.

I say only 4 states actually respect a "right" to carry.
