An Illinois Senate Committee banned semiautomatic assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips. KMOV reported
An Illinois Senate committee, in a party-line vote, has approved restrictions on semiautomatic assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.
One measure would ban the sale of semiautomatic handguns and rifles. People who currently own such weapons could keep them, but would have to register them.
The second proposal would limit ammunition magazines to 10 or fewer rounds. Sen. Dan Kotowski, the bills sponsor, says he wants to concentrate on the high-capacity magazines because they make assault weapons more lethal.
Democrats are pushing the gun restrictions in the wake of the school massacre in Connecticut last month.
Illinois, the Canary in the Mine.
Let’s see how the people outside of Chicago deal with this.
I’m also positive that the 2013 Murder Rate in Chicago will be Zero.
Well thank God for that! Now all the criminals in Chicago will only use legally approved weapons to commit crimes!

Cheers
Good thing I don’t have clips for any of the guns I lost in the lake, all I have are magazines.
Where that video of all the countries down through history where the ruling class disarmed their populations?
And here I always thought it was the bullets. Who knew?
Uh yeah.. good luck with that lovely state of Ill-Annoy.
It’s worked SO well in NY and NYC.
I’m not going to ‘register’ SHIT! I sold it all to an Urban Atlanta denizen who showed me a voter ID card as identification.
*** Sen. Dan Kotowski, the bills sponsor, says he wants to concentrate on the high-capacity magazines because they make assault weapons more lethal. ****
Does this dum bass not realize that most deaths occur in the first 10 rounds from such magazines?
About handguns
It has always been about handguns. Assault rifles was just a decoy to try and get their anti-gun foot in the door.
Once they get a ban on AWs then they will use the same reasons to go after handguns.
John Kennedy killed with a 5 shot bolt action rifle.
Bobby Kennedy with a .22 Iver Johnson Cadet revolver.
George Wallace wounded with a 5 shot Charter Arms .38spl.
Gerald Ford attacked with a 7 shot 1911 semi auto.
Edmond OK post office with two National Guard 7 shot 1911 pistols.
Ronald Reagan and Jim Brady with an RG-14 .22 pistol.
What do they all have in common? NONE over 7 rounds, yet after each one came a cry of panic to ban them.
The Illinois State Rifle Association issued an urgent alert to its members...
There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering, the group stated in its alert. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the state police and avoid prosecution.
Illinois is loaded with major firearms manufacturers. When they leave, that should do wonders to help with that nagging pension problem. Oh well, at least all their queers can blow each other as husband and husband now. Way to go Illinois. You’re just super awesome! you fagot commie ****%%^$&$$#
The larger magazines weigh slightly more than smaller ones, so when you pull it out and smack someone on the head with one, it hurts more.
It’s unconstitutional. Don’t turn them in or you’ll never see them again even after it’s overturned.

"Banning all these is so totally the right thing to do, because like criminals that know that theres a law of the books, will so totally not use those things. This is government at its best and Democrats like really know how to be the best."
His last name?
Smith ...
I’m not registering shit either. Quinn and co can kiss my ass.
I so want this crap to be over. In a way, I want to see this become law in IL. Perhaps it would start a localized civil war that will put gun control nuts in their place and serve as an example to the rest of America.
Everyone on that committee needs to be brought up on charges of violating USC Title 18, Sec 242. Deprivation of Civil Rights under Color of Law. It is a felony and can carry a penalty up to include Death.
Time to either flee Illinois, or fight for your rights.
I lived their briefly many years ago, so I will at the least offer verbal encouragement.
