I have confirmed with a group of Congressmen that House Speaker John Boehner will not be reelected Speaker tomorrow.
He will either resign or be forced out tomorrow.
Only 17 members are needed to block Speaker Boehner's election tomorrow. A Speaker needs an absolute majority of all votes cast for a specific person.
If no one has a majority, the House is speakerless. I've confirmed these rules with the House Parliamentarian.
What a HUGE disappointment ..... This is just a waste of our time. They are all in bed together.

did he get it? I can’t stand to watch
I second TREY GOWDY for Speaker.
Yep. She put him over the top.
So much for all the talk. It’s just talk.
He got it... it was painful to watch.
Yes.. He got it. We have the crying drunk for weeper speaker.
Fox says he does not have it yet. 9 have voted no. If that number goes up to 17 they will have to vote again.
I knew it cr4p.......just cr4p. :(
(Actually, I loudly applaud every word you said)
I too am into spines, sharp tongues and steel constitution. Throw in some arrogance and a political brain, and we’ve got Newt. Ha!
Thanks, Rita
(oops). Brought to you by the same bunch that predicted a Romney landslide.
Oh no, tell me you were not one of the fools who believe she was running,
Some of them got quite unpleasant when they were warned that she was not.
Trump fooled a bunch here too, all they had to do was get on TV and say "woof, woof,Obama is no good" and there was a immediate sucker crowd that was sure they were running.
Bohners got the job because no one else wants it. He doesn't have to be great or historic, he's the goat, no one else wants that.
I saw Marsha Blackburn chirping up a storm on FNC yesterday about her opposing the tax extension bill all about 'lines in the sand' and saying ‘no’, and what her district voters want.(she is pretty which kept my attention)
She could of announced a run for Speaker.
Then she could have made sure the House passes nothing that gets into law. Unfortunately the tax increase deadline passed at the end of the year, otherwise she could run for Speaker and if she got it held out and let all the taxes go up and got the credit for it.
But it was much easier to vote no, the bill passes into law anyway, most of her district's voters taxes DON”T go up automatically and she is safe saying she 'voted against tax increases'.
The goat made that possible.
When they rejected plan B they ensured that the final bill would be crafted by O and the Senate. And for all I know that is what they wanted and are scared to say.
Sure, its easy to sit on the sidelines and demand that Bohner block a tax cut extension and in effect raise everyone’s taxes, and demand that he say he did it because he is against tax increases, while him getting all the blame for all the tax increases, which they all know would happen.
But they couldn't find a single House member willing to stand up and apply for that ridiculous job requirement.
Bohner is no great leader and in fact I think he is weak, but maybe that is why he has this job. Someone smarter (and sleazier) like Canter wont go near it.
So Sarah got no symbolic votes as Speaker??? Now that hurts :)

“I was not making comment on Sarah. With all of our enemies that wish us dead... we really do not need to make enemies amongst those who will fight tyranny beside us. That is all that I was trying to say. Re-fighting the election has no value... we are now fighting for the survival of any semblance of our once great republic.”
A mere semblance of a republic is perhaps enough to ensure that Julius Caesar’s illusion of a republic to keep the people seduced as their republic is transformed into an empire. But a mere semblance is no where near enough to preserve a real Republic.
A real Republic has limits, what we have now is halfhearted opposition in the rule a boundless Federal government. AKA mob rule. Hardly more fertile a ground for a Caesar to take over.
You see LibLieSlayer if we keep going as we are, there wont be an effective fight against tyranny at all. That republic we all seek to see preserved will fade into history with most people never realizing its gone until nobody that can cares to restore it.
All for show. Cantor voted for Boehner. They all make me sick to my stomach.
Sorry you see a problem with assigning blame where it provably belongs.
Hope all that PDS you displayed keeps you warm, what with the RINO wing now in full control of our collective destiny. Me? I have no problem with my positions. It’s not easy being right so often, but I’m standing on pretty firm ground here.
