Ya can’t fix stupid but ya can neuter it.
This is its intended effect.
It's one reason so many multinationals support this eco-terrorism. They know their competitors can't absorb the costs.
I dropped CA from my operating authority.
Won’t miss it.
The proper business answer is to refuse to ship freight there.
Once it becomes uneconomical to ship freight to Californistan, businesses will no longer do business there.
Of course, someone could “suggest” that California “invest” in a bunch of battery powered vehicle that would be tasked with picking up the freight at the border and delivering it.
I’m “sure” this will “work” out well for Caifornistan.
Trucks from Mexico are exempt ...
I love it when I buy a common product here and see this warning on it.
“WARNING! This product contains an ingredient known in the state of California to cause cancer.”
Perhaps it should be changed to read ...
“WARNING: This product contains an ingredient that causes cancer ONLY in the state of California!”
This problem can be fixed quickly. Food is delivered by trucks. Stop all trucks, California dies from no food, problem solved. No need for trucks there anymore.
Trucking companies should just not do business in California.
The State of California deserves all the grousing, and slander one can toss in their direction, but this action has been well publicized throughout the industry, NOT necessarily the MSM, but the trucking industry through mailers, and other means, and every mom & pop trucker has been aware, therefore is aware of this. It’s also been postponed a couple of times.
I know the trucking company my wife works for the past 35 years is well aware of it, and has decried the postponements only due the fear of their forced investments being all of a sudden for naught.
It’s total BS IMO. Heresy, or science? The Left has fairies in their trees.
There are apparently also permit fees based on the size of your fleet. My son told me the local well pump place had to get rid of one of its rigs as it put them over the threshold.
The railroads may benefit.
GOOD!
Stop delivering in California and you won’t have to pay their damn taxes and fuel prices either.
1 Million fewer trucks working in California ought to make an impression at some point.
You can be sure that the Mexican trucks coming into CA will be exempt. The Free Traders who push NAFTA will take CA to NAFTA Court over this law....of course the Free Trader Commies could care less a about the US truckers affected. Would not be surprised that this CA law was passed to go after US trucks specifically
If this is a way to get unsafe Mexican trucks off the road, that is a benefit. If it’s just to kill American truckers, I can’t support it.
