The Atlanta Braves have not used their controversial "Screaming Indian" logo in any official capacity since 1989, but the team plans to bring it back next season as part of its new batting practice hats.
And so far, the reaction on the Web has been less than positive.

I’m old enough to remember the Chief. :>D
As a Phillies fan anything having to do with the Atlanta Braves offends me. While they go after the hat why not ban the “chop”? Go gettem p.c. liberals!!
That is the happiest brave I’ve ever seen. I suggest AOL adopt the “Screaming Liberal” logo.
Maybe they would be happier with a half black-half white wannabe socialist dictator on their hats?
Well, I don’t like it only because it’s ugly — don’t care if it’s PC or not.
What was wrong with the “A” on the cap? It looks so much better.
Regards,
What was that thing in the middle of the field for the Washington Redskins game yesterday?
Me too...along with paying nosebleed but getting whatever seat I chose in an empty Fulco.
Old enough to remember when this fascist azz crap woulda been laughed or shot back to the hellhole it came from...with some beat down hippies just for good measure.
That’s very good — took me a bit to get it but it’s early here...
Can I say that’s an ugly hat, or would that be racist?
If you want to determine how inferior any culture or religion is, simply see how easily they are offended.
Strong cultures and beliefs are not rattled by a word, picture, joke but inferior ones always are offended.
Mics and Wops rule the world!
HA! I remember Funny Face Drink Mix. My dad used to buy that for me when I was a very wee tike (before Mom got on her health food kick). Had not thought of Chinese Cherry in many years.
As far as the Braves cap is concerned, its still better than Chief Wahoo up in Cleveland. That’s one logo I actually can’t blame an Indian for finding offensive.
“Hu” means “Tiger” in Mandarin. I have a cat named Xiao Hu, ‘Little Tiger.’
Took a few seconds for it to register; that’s damn funny!
Im a Phils fan since birth, so I find the Braves offensive. I think they were most offended by Dykstra’ s 10th inning bomb off Wohlers in Game 4 of the 93 NLCS.
I think that was my first encounter with political correctness when their names got change to Jolly Olly Orange and Choo Choo Cherry!
Youtube has some hilarious non pc commercials from the 50s and 60s!
Ill never forget Chris Collinsworth trying to get Kobe to say he wasn’ t proud to represent the USA in the Olympics. To his credit, Kobe didn’t bite.
