This divide has existed for decades, separating America into hostile camps of conservative vs. liberal, rural vs. urban. As the nation responds to the massacre of 20 children and six adults in Newtown, Conn., the gulf has rarely felt wider than now.
After the gunman invaded an elementary school with a Bushmaster AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and magazines of 30 bullets each, there was a brief moment of unity amid the nation's grief. Across partisan divides, politicians said something must be done about weapons based upon military designs. Many wondered if even the National Rifle Association would adjust its staunch opposition to gun control.
Then both sides regrouped. With President Barack Obama pushing for a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and memory lingering of Obama's divisive 2008 comment that some Americans "cling to guns and religion," positions hardened.

With the direction the country is going in, we need to come out and bluntly say it, “it is to protect us from the tyranny of government.”

Ironic, in all my 67 years I never felt that I needed an AR. That ended in 2008 when I could see where we were going. If I were not concerned this place is going to collapse due to over spending or if I were not concerned the IWON was not bent on becoming a dictator, I probably would not own one today. Alas, both of these are probable and I have a God given right to defend myself and my family.
As far as His Excellency, Feinstein, Brady, the commie party and the rest of the blood suckers out there go, they can rot in hell.
I agree on both items. A number of Republican voices in allegedly “conservative” radio was very timid to almost full blown concession over this issue last week.

Throw it right back at them. The semi-auto rifles and standard magazines are the most effective militia weapons, and thus are the most protected under the Constitution.
A) Banning all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns, with an immediate confiscation thereof. Or
B) Banning backyard swimming pools.
The WRM part was already decided by the USSC. The MSM can stick it where the sun don’t shine. I’m interested only two words in any gun-grabber debate with ANYONE, HELL-NO
It is NOT a debate. It is a constitutionally protected God given right.
It’s impossible for the left to understand the simle distinction between automatic and semi-automatic. I guess it’s the same as the difference between literate and semi-literate.
That’s probably the only thin that will work. No matter what the discussion, the left will twist it because they are not interested in the truth, they are interested in control.
If the GOP doesn’t stop the push for gun control, there will be very predictable responses. Okay, predictable for those paying attention.

The anti-gun forces can only work in the moment while the pro-gun forces use timeless concepts and principles to answer the babbling of the weak-minded.
So the leftists want us to sacrifice our AR-15s. What in turn will they sacrifice? Compromise means always moving leftward.
