And my conservative black children.
I hate what this country has come to re; race. It is polarized and the current powers that be seem to be using race to control and terrify people. Leftists split people and have really worked the black white split to their benefit.
Perhaps I engaged a bit in hyperbole, but I can see where race wars could start in the big cities. It is truly sad the way the left exploits blacks. They are only unwitting pawns. I truly respect black conservatives like you Windflier. It takes courage to swim against the tide of a 95% democratic voting block. You and I would certainly wear the same ‘uniform’. The uniform of patriotism.

It doesn't take any courage to know what you know, or to live by your own convictions, instead of those of the mob. I never have been one to follow the crowd, and have never understood those who do. I've always been my own leader, and have never sought approval from any group.
The crowd can do what they want. They don't own me.
Yeah, it's nice when you're in a group that shares most of your convictions, but that isn't the be-all, end-all for me. I'd rather be on the losing end of a battle in which I'm absolutely right, than compromise my own truth, just to fit in.

Yep. We've actually been going in reverse on race relations in this country for at least the last twenty years (if not more). And it wasn't the conservative side that jammed the gear shift in that direction. It was the left, who MUST reduce people to the grossest, lowest common denominator possible, then pit their manufactured groups against one another to more easily control them all.
In a perfect future, the country wakes up to the destructive nature of left-liberal ideology, and banishes it from our nation. Either that, or a civil war is going to be fought over it. That's a war they will not win.

Here in AZ we have it better than most in defendability, but we certainly have problems of our own. Just from a different crew of grievance hounds.

Doesn’t have to be that way. The great majority of people do not ‘hate’ Blacks, Mexicans or anyone else. But truth doesn’t matter when free bennies and Bronco-promises rule the day.

Yes, it will. You are going to be in a difficult position.
But let me ask you a very personal question (I will understand if you choose not to answer publicly).
As a black, if it comes to the verge of actual “hot” racial conflicts (vis-a-vis the “racial cold war” that we seem to be in now), with whom will you take sides?
- The blacks, with whom you share the same skin color, or
- The racialist whites, with whom you (seem to) share the same political/cultural philosophy?

I'm surprised that you consider that to be a difficult question. First of all, I'm a man. An American man. Like every other man (or woman) I'm a spirit driving a body. Mine just happens to be black. How does that make me any different than you? Or any other person? Does the paint job determine what's under the hood? No, it doesn't.
If this country split across racial lines in a hot civil war, why would I side with people who I have nothing in common with, besides a paint job? Do you honestly think that I would have more allegiance to DNA than I would to the concepts and convictions that power my mind and heart? Tell me you don't really believe that.
I could answered the question for you. Not as eloquently but certainly accurately. It really wasn't hard at all.
Too true. A person can't rightfully call themselves a conservative unless they identify themselves first and foremost by the timeless truths and ideals which compose that ideology.
There's nothing wrong with being proud of ones ancestry, but that's not what makes us who we are. It's the ideals we live by.
