Most voters still want President Obama and Congress to avoid the fiscal cliff of big tax hikes and automatic across-the-board spending cuts scheduled to kick in next Tuesday, but fewer than ever think a deal is likely. Voters tend to blame congressional Republicans more than the president for the impasse.

Heh, close enough. People will blame the GOP no matter what. If the leadership had the balls to do what the NRA Chairman (or President) did and use the MSM to blunt most of the attach, the gap would narrow somewhat. I wonder when the light bulb will go off in the GOP?
Arguing over the shuffleboard rules while the Titanic continues to sink beneath the waves.........
It’s 100% congresses fault.
rich people play shuffleboard so the sinking was republican’s fault.
Why is that? Must be the MSM. How can they control 2/3 of the government but get less than half the blame?
What do you do when nearly half have had their brains scooped out and replaced with Jello pudding? Does no one even look at the numbers? They’re not that hard to track down...

We went over the fiscal cliff early in 2009. This is just a bunch of democrat looksee-pidgin.
As time goes by more people are blaming Obama in these polls. So, unless a majority blame the GOP, I don’t necessarily thin this plays out like Obama intended.
Moochers and freeloaders will blame the GOP no matter what..that 44 percent is Obama’s base who sits on their asses waiting for their food stamps and welfare checks to arrive in the mail
My GOD far too many people in this country are f-ing stupid beyond belief. Of course the election results prove that.
Goebbels -----> Alinsky -----> Axelrod.
Add a supine state-run media which endlessly attacks the "enemies of the state": a spineless bunch of GOP geldings, who are afraid of their own shadows.
Rinse and repeat.
I blame the government in general. They created the mess.
A couple of weeks of frantic media assaults will get that 44% up to 116%.
I work in a manufacturing company in TX. There are even some educated asshats with paper hanging on the wall so support the looser obumer.
No rational reason or thought. They say “I’ve always voted that way”.
You can’t fix stupid.

The Dems are not going to get near the mileage they hope with this. The GOP House members are pretty much elected in districts that know the score and dislike 0bama. The unknown is how this might affect the statewide races for Senate in 2014. But there are more Dems up than GOP. If blame just falls on Congress generically, the Dems may get hurt more.
So why not go over the fiscal cliff? Obama and the MSM have convinced the left that the debt has been caused because we’ve got an income problem. So let’s raise everyone’s taxes and “solve” the deficit problem. Then when the debt ceiling issue comes up it’s already fixed. Democrats will have their income. Leave the debt ceiling where it is. Can’t have it both ways,.
