The mayor of Tampa, Bob Buckhorn, has traded in his GMC Yukon Denali, seized from a local pimp. What's Buckhorn's new ride? It's a brand-new Suburban, bought with money from the Republican National Convention. From pimps to pork, then.
The old Denali was a 2005 model taken from infamous local pimp Melvin Fox, who was charged with sex trafficking, sexual battery, and allegedly forcing someone's daughter into prostitution. Buckhorn thought the SUV would be perfect for his kids, right after he took off the chrome spinners.
Buckhorn gave the Denali back to the Tampa police department, and it is now assigned to an officer.
Buckhorn's new whip, issued to him by the city, is significantly more subdued. It's one of 13 black Suburbans purchased for transporting dignitaries around the RNC. The Republican Party bought these vehicles brand new, and they fit perfectly into Buckhorn's mantra of not spending taxpayer money on his car.
The taxpayer still pays his gas bill, but at least they're not paying to keep him big pimpin.
Got it in one! Long line of such in Tampa along with the local US Representatives, currently Ms. Castor. Demonstration of indoctrinated voting.
Living in Chicago, I see strange things quite often. One of the funniest was the time I saw a pimp, completely with white custom made pimp suit, wide brim fur-trimmed hat, and pimp cane, but waiting at the bus stop! I tried to take a photo, but we were driving by in the car, and laughing too much to get a clear shot.
I mean, what kind of low rent pimp has to take public transportation? You can’t make this stuff up.
Last year on I-75 north bound in central Ohio we spotted an HHR, painted lavendar leopard,
ith Michigan plates that read “Dtroit”.We never got a good look at the driver through the car’s illegaly (in Ohio anyway) tinted windows, but we laughed til we cried.
We also wondered if the driver’s name wass “Nathan”.
I live in Tampa...Buckhorn isn’t bad for a democrat mayor...He’s not the libtard moonbat version...
Stuff that is confiscated is not property of the police. It belongs to the people and should be auctioned off. It certainly is NOT a gift to the mayor for his kids! Someone should be making an issue of this and getting the the proceeds put where they belong.
Outright thievery, that’s what it is.
Oh I dunno, his wanting to prohibit law abiding gun owners from the area surrounding the RNC wasn’t all that sensible.
Must be nice to have the tax payers fund your car payment. Just go confiscate another vehicle when you get tired of the old one.
Nice GMC Suburban. Always wanted one, but the $50-60k price tag was just a “bit too steep”. Heh. Still driving my mint-condition 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (200k miles).
Agreed, but that hardly makes him a moonbat libtard...
But based on the democrat threats of protest and mayhem...I think he was just being overly cautious...
He is a CCW permit holder as well...
Well I guess we disagree on him then.
Soooooo, mayors now can appropriate other people’s property?

I am not sure that items should be confiscated in crime. Seems a bit thuggish to me. If you are charged with a crime, go to court and if you are convicted pay the fine or do the time. But have your stuff confisated should not be in the deal. Sounds too feudal to me.
