Stuff that is confiscated is not property of the police. It belongs to the people and should be auctioned off. It certainly is NOT a gift to the mayor for his kids! Someone should be making an issue of this and getting the the proceeds put where they belong.

Outright thievery, that’s what it is.

Must be nice to have the tax payers fund your car payment. Just go confiscate another vehicle when you get tired of the old one.

I am not sure that items should be confiscated in crime. Seems a bit thuggish to me. If you are charged with a crime, go to court and if you are convicted pay the fine or do the time. But have your stuff confisated should not be in the deal. Sounds too feudal to me.
