We're seeing more and more of these petition threads. Do you feel comfortable signing a petition at White House website?
I don't.
They claim that Obama will consider the petitions when X number of signatures are logged.
I think they're collecting names.
Yup, data collection for potential politcal enemies has been a MAJOR theme in this Regime
They have probably had most of our names for a long time, being as how we post on FR——LOL!
Let them come and get me........I just don’t care any more.
I’ve been publicly complaining about the government since Ruby Ridge. If they don’t have my name by now, then they’re bigger idiots than I thought.
The petitions are a joke. They are nothing but a data mining operation. To sign, you must register with them including contact info.
They get a gold mine of grassroots info. ie, “Joe Blow in anywhere Missourri is someone we should contact to agitate when we are pushing a cap and trade bill and want congressmen flooded with calls”. Or, “we are pushing for an assault rifle ban, this state had a lot of people sign a petition opposing it, so we need to find a way to sweeten the deal for the congressmen from that state”.
The one thing it is not, is a way for people to communicate to the government. It’s a cynical fraud,,period.
And if you sign for a liberal cause, the info will go straight to Obamas Organizing for America group for their get out the vote database.
This is trash and no conservative should get involved in it. Petitions, yes. Official government petition websites? Please no.
>> Its a cynical fraud,,period.
I signed the petition for building a Death Star. I guess that will put me on a list of people who like to serve evil empires and want to fight young, photogenic rebels.
I remember years ago just after the 1968 Gun Control Act became law. Our local sporting goods-hardware store was collecting signatures on a petition to revoke the 1968 law.
One farmer, when asked to sign jumped back like he had been snakebit and yell “NO”! He admitted he was afraid to get his name on any such list that would go into government hands.
Aside from these petitions being useless, flaccid, futile nothings, the government agency that performs security clearance investigations for government contracts has warned that your signature on some of these petitions (especially the secession petitions) could be grounds for refusal or revocation of a security clearance.
It’s pointless exposure with no effect.
Bottom line: Absolutely *NOTHING* that we say or do makes any difference to The Usurper in the pursuit of his agenda.
Congress is broken.
The Bureaucracy is on *HIS* side.
It’s “We the People” versus The State. Period.
(See tag line.)
They want as much as possible.
I'm sure the have a very sophisticated data base with all relevant categories to pigeonhole all conservatives and cross reference to keep tabs on us.
And the same for the libs that go to their site. Get information for furthering the propaganda and brainwashing.
And of course fund raising.
Just more stuff by our Community Organizer in Chief, with the strings going up to V Jarrett's hands (The Man Behind The Curtain)
It’s silliness to act like it’s a gestapo round up, or some kind of targeting list. They laugh at such talk. The true power of those things is the data they glean from them that lets them win elections like the last one.
That was fraud, and a very efficient get out the vote system organized by the kind of kids that work at google.
I remember reading, somewhere, going to the Cash for Clunkers website was considered approval for them to get access to your computer.
Does anyone else remember this? I think Glenn Beck broke the story. Glenn has been right about 99% of the time. (Like everyone else, no one thought Americans would be suicidal enough to reelect one of the worst, if not THE worst, presidents in U.S. history, but they paracitic voter managed to pull it off anyway.)
I won’t sign them. They’ll only tout the ones that agree with them anyway...I don’t need to put my name out there.
Did this petition thing online start with the Obama administration, or has it been around for a bit?
I think they’re a bad joke that further confuses people about the way things are legitimately done in this country. Its like American Idol for government.
Personally, I don’t care if they are keeping lists, but I am sure they do.
I won’t sign any of these petitions, mostly because I think they’re a waste of time. Unless one is simply agreeing with a given position of the democrats, they don’t give a damn about what ‘real’ Americans think.
