WOR (710 AM) is clearing the decks for a Rush-and-Sean landing. Long-time station mainstay Dr. Joy Browne was dismissed Thursday, along with former Gov. David Paterson and syndicated host Mike Huckabee, as WORs new management prepares to roll out a radically different prime-time lineup in 2013. In a move that had been rumored for months but didnt happen until five days before Christmas, the station also laid off a number of behind-the-scenes workers Thursday. A statement from Buckley Broadcasting, WORs outgoing owner, said: We thank our employees for their service over the years and wish them all the best. We are providing our workers with a generous severance package, and Clear Channel will absorb a number of the station staff." While nothing has been officially announced, the new Clear Channel lineup at some point in 2013 is expected to feature Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, who have dominated city talk radio as the afternoon lineup on rival WABC (770 AM) since Hannity joined the station in 1998. WOR was purchased in August by Clear Channel, the radio giant that also owns Premiere, the company that syndicates both Limbaugh and Hannity. Limbaugh and Hannity are the first- and second-most popular talk show hosts in the country, and it is widely expected Clear Channel will shift them to the companys own station.

Meh. Don’t care. I don’t listen to s single pundit anymore anyway. Don’t trust a one. To a man/woman they have sold us out.
Rush does a great job nad has been doing so. There will be shifting, as things move in different directions. I know Rush will move with it, perhaps even staying afead, but no one, especially him, need feel in any way low due to the election results. THins would have been just about infinitely worse had he not been out there to get and keep us informed.. W
People have to step up.He’s laid a lot of groundwork.
Anyone who reads, as all are well advised to do, the Papal encyclical dated 1968, rejected by many at the time, and still, “Humanae Vitae” (’Of Human Life”) will know how informing the ppublic on common sense and vital matters can be a long, frustrating project.
Let’s remember the most powerful and appeal to Him. Rush knows who that is.
Bring back Steve Malzberg.
I listen to John Gambling & like his variety of guests. Hope he stays on the air...
This might be a bit off topic, but any FReepers who enjoy Fox News Talk on Sirius/XM (Brian Kilmeade, John Gibson, Tom Sullivan, Spencer Hughes) should be aware that Sirius/XM is threatening to drop the station come the first of the year.
If you care, call or email (warning: Sirius/XM has outsourced their “customer care”, likely to India, which will make a telephone call very frustrating).
I’ve been listening to them for a long time. They used to be “Midnight Trucking” and recently changed the name. Eric Harley and Gary McNamara are the hosts. Their facebook page is usually updated regularly with the information they put on their show, too. They defend their positions very well. I have never heard them lose an argument with a lib. https://www.facebook.com/redeyeradionetwork
I love it! You don't get more far-left than that woman.
If I were a lib, I would never call them.
Love those guys. I've been listening to them for years.
I called Sirius to complain about them dropping Fox News Talk. They said the channel is over as of Jan 1. That’s one of the few channels I listen to on Sirius.
The Red Eye Radio guys are the best on the radio, period!!
I love Red eye radio, it is on in san diego on ifmb from 12 am to 3 am, they are really interesting, and know their stuff
You're obviously waiting for the return of Jesus Christ but unfortunately nobody knows when He's coming back.
But if He does, I suspect not even He will live up to your demands and expectations...........
Just imagine someone giving out free fish and bread to the masses, I'm sure in your book that would be the first recorded history of welfare handouts........
I kinda lost interest in C2C after Art retired for good and Noory took over. He's gotten better, but it's not the same show it once was. KLIF (in the DFW market) even dumped C2C some time back.
No matter. I've been listening to Red Eye Radio for years anyway.
Yep. Eric Harley and Gary McNamara are two of the best in the business. I think they'd be a national hit if more people could hear them. They're my kind of 'take no prisoners' conservatives.
I hate it when I drift off....and that’s saying a lot because I have a full time day job! (I don’t know how I do it! It’s going to catch up with me some day.)
