This is PRECISELY why Obama picked Kerry. Kerry is a polarizing figure, through which Obama gets a chance once again to go “all in”, letting the chips fall where they may.
If the Swift-Boaters appear once again, and get even a fraction of the attention they got when Kerry ran for President, they will be ignored and/or lambasted by the MSM even more than they were then. Consider the fact that the GOPe are already in the bag for Kerry, with very few dissenters, and you’ve got a perfect storm for “we-need-more-nuance-in-our-foreign-policy” Kerry to be a shoo-in
