CNN's Piers Morgan has been on a rabid anti-gun rant since July's Aurora, Colorado, shootings that has gotten even more venomous after Friday's massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
On Tuesday, he rudely and disgracefully tore into guest Larry Pratt, the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, calling him "an unbelievably stupid man" who's "dangerous," concluding the interview by saying, "You shame your country" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
PIERS MORGAN, HOST: The AR-15, as we've now seen from the last three mass shootings in America, Aurora, the shopping mall in Oregon, and now at Sandy Hook school, is the preferred choice of weapon for disturbed young men who want to commit mass atrocity, can fire hundreds of bullets at rapid speed, if you have the right magazines.
The president of the United States has indicated he wants to ban assault weapons like this. What is your view?
LARRY PRATT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA: I think we need to ban gun control laws that keep people from being able to protect themselves. The problem is not going to go away if we ban this or that gun. We've tried that. That doesn't work. Doesn't even work in England. You have mass murders there all over Europe. There have been mass murderers.
MORGAN: You're talking complete and utter -- you are talking complete and utter nonsense.
PRATT: The solution is for people to be able to defend themselves at the point of the crime and not wait for 20 minutes for the police come after everybody is dead.
MORGAN: What you've just said, Mr. Pratt, was an absolute lie. The gun murder rate in countries like Britain or Germany or Australia, we've all suffered massacres many years ago, similar nature, have -- there are 35 people killed a year. Your country has 12,000.
PRATT: Your murder rate has -- your murder rate is lower than ours, that is true. Your violent --
MORGAN: Lower? It's 75 against 12,000 in Australia.
PRATT: Your violent crime rate --
MORGAN: They had a massacre. And they got rid of the assault weapons.

Because they were a much more virtuous people back then, just like we were.
They just seemed to have decayed at a faster rate than us Postwar.

Not to mention the lack of the major demographic that causes most gun violence in the US, inner city young black men which murder other inner city young black men.
If the demographics were altered to match that of Europe, would the crime rates really be that much different?
Ignored in all of the was the guy in China who slashed all those people on the same day as Newton.
As I keep telling people, hands and feet are responsible for many more deaths in the US than guns!
Perhaps Piers Morgan needs to talk to other people with common sense. Or, at least, actually listen to guests, and conduct a civilized debate. Instead, Piers launches into name calling from the Democrats playbook, and spits out his hysterical and baseless gun control nonsense.
Samuel L Jackson said this about the Sandy Hook shooting: “I don’t think it’s about more gun control. I grew up in the South with guns everywhere and we never shot anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren’t taught the value of life.”
Piers Morgan again clearly demonstrates his ignorance of the American people, the American culture, and his leftist bias. Does anyone watch him any more?

This, right here, is where a true-blue, patriotic American should begin the discussion.
The correct answer is: My “view” is that the POTUS should not be advocating for a violation of the US Constitution. Those that support such un-American advocacy should be rightly viewed as enemies of the Constitutionalist and a threat to our country. What’s your view, Piers?

PRATT: Maybe the CNN poofdahs think your British accent adds to your credibility, but spouting socialist propaganda isn't news, and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying you're in the news business.
MORGAN: I'm not going to listen to these insults - answer the question at hand. The facts are, they had a massacre. And they got rid of the assault weapons.
PRATT: The Brits have a long history of being subjects, and in the last generation they have created a permanent culture of welfare and dependency. We kicked your lobster-backed butts out of here in ‘76, and I think we should kick your paternal philosophy of subjecthood out of the country again. There are 14 times as many people in the US as in Australia.
And, if you edit out one demographic in the US - a demographic which by itself equals 60% of the total UK population and twice the population of Australia - the numbers shift dramatically.

The police have stated these were legally owned guns, which I understand in CT means no full auto. So this was a semi-auto AR-15....I guess the 0.223 Bushmaster.

What Morgan is trying to do is convince the sheeple (and numb skulled congressmen) that this was a fully automatic weapon...’laying and spraying’....which is a lie.
Ask him “who is going to go around and collect all the guns from the criminals who disobey gun control laws?”
