A major sporting goods retailer has pulled all guns from its store nearest to Newtown, Conn., according to a report on CNN.com.
Twenty children and six staff members were fatally shot Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown by a 20-year-old man who then took his own life.

So one guy who killed himself with guns stolen from his own mother who legally purchased it now means that we must have some big bans and restrictions on firearm purchases even though the shooter is dead and, for right now, he wasn’t part of some organization that goes around shooting people.
This is just a sentimental exercise and an utter waste of time.
I went shopping tonight. Hit four different stores around the area (Green Bay, WI). I was specifically looking for 5.56 ammo and 30 round AR magazines. The first three did not have a single mag in stock. Not even an empty hook where they would be. One, (Gander Mountain) didn't even have the other merchandise spread out to cover the hole. Just 1/3 of the display rack conspicuously empty. None had any quantity of ammo either.
The fourth store had a dozen empty hooks and 4 P-Mag magazines, which I purchased. As I was checking out, I got into a casual conversation with the employee. He said that their distributor(s?) told them that they would not be getting any more black rifles until further notice.
Someone is putting the squeeze on them to stop sales. We could, in effect, have a gun ban already.
I’m outside of St Louis. I don’t have the time, but would find the time to picket them, bone heads.
Got something from them. Good prices, good service.
I could hug you. Congrats at your humble and honest acknowledgement. Do not feel bad. "All TV news" doesn't know anything more about guns than you do. But at least you are here trying to learn something.
The only difference between you and them is that they are broadcasting misunderstanding and ignorance to the masses with absolute certainty and confidence in their knowledge (at least that what they know is more than their audience).
Thanks for the feedback. I kind of liked what I saw there better than the other site. A good looking website doesn’t necessarily mean better products, service or prices though so your testimonial is very helpful.
I don’t do Dick’s.
OTOH, I grew up in the hills of western Washington state, home schooled by my dad who flew in Vietnam, an uncle who flew choppers there and two brothers one a chopper pilot in Iraq and the other a weapons officer. My mom was a military brat. I grew up with firearms and learned woodcraft skills. Our property is six acres of heavily wooded hills that abuts other properties of the same sort. We're backed up against the Olympic National Forest, over 200 square miles of forest. When I was thirteen my uncle who taught me woodland skills put me out five miles from home with a backpack, a rifle and enough food and told me to make my way back home. I was out overnight and got home with no worries the next afternoon. I've been around all sorts of firearms from pistols to rifles. I'm a member of the Washington Arms Collectors and go to all the gun shows when I'm home.
So first off I flashed on the fact the MSM knows squat about guns. Then the anti-gun idiots and their statements. Okay, enough of a rant. Take care, A Blessed Christmas To You And Yours. R/Janey
No, don’t think so. I think the demand is simply overloading the supply system, guns and ammo alike.
Bud’s sold out of Mosin Nagant’s today, and I’ve been looking all week. Should have pulled the trigger (no pun intended) yesterday. I talked to the guy on the phone as a reserved one of the next lot. I asked him if he knew that Cheaper Than Dirt had suspended all their gun sales. He said no. I asked him if Bud’s was gonna limit sales and he said not that he knew of. Dark days...
It could also be that they are holding mags & bullets in the back waiting to increase the prices as demand increases.
