Few details were provided on what the House would do on other items, such as the scheduled billions of dollars of cuts to defense and domestic programs known as the sequester. One House Republican source said that the chamber would seek to push those into next year, and freeze some other programs into the new year.

This vote is nothing more than a test vote to see who will vote for
Boneheads tax plan and who won’t. Those who vote no will be threatened

This is a middle ground - at least we can say we passed a bill that stops the vast majority of taxes from going up and Reid and Obama would not pass it. It isn't much cover, but it's all we have. See how quickly they panned it - they know it looks better for the GOP.
I know- we already passed similar laws that sit collecting dust in the Senate. This is a little different, because even the “Jaywalking” masses are paying a little attention (at least those few that pay taxes).
