The emerging profile of Adam Lanza, the suspected shooter in the school massacre in Newtown, Conn., is depressingly familiar.
He has been described as being socially awkward and a loner. He reportedly had Asperger's syndrome — a high-performing form of autism — and may have been afflicted by other psychiatric problems. And he was male. His sex almost goes without saying.
According to Mother Jones, 62 mass shootings — defined as a single spree that killed at least four people — have been carried out in the U.S. since 1982. Only one was perpetrated by a female.
In 2006, Jennifer San Marco fatally shot her former neighbor, then drove to work and killed six colleagues before turning her gun on herself. The rest of the massacres were carried out by males, 44 of whom were white.
What is the connection between gender and outbreaks of massive violence? A helpful way to approach the question is to look at the three main categories of mass murderers. There are "family annihilators," who, as the name suggests, turn on their families.
There are "set-and-run" or "hit-and-run" killers, who usually hide and try to avoid capture. Then there are "pseudocommandos," a category that would seem to include James Holmes, the suspected shooter in the July movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colo., and Seung-Hui Cho, who in 2007 killed 32 people during a rampage at Virginia Tech.

Why only define ‘a single spree killed at 4 people’ with only ‘shootings’?
Is there any other form of killings that fits the bill but not with guns? Yes, yes, there is. So females don't do arsons, vehicular homicides or other types, either?
Men used to have to learn to deal with their emotions, but teachers don’t have the partience for tat any more, anyway they suppress those emotions when they come up.
Now we have a generation of grown boys who have no idea of their role and place in soceity.

I think that is the key sentence in your entire article. The meds, the public discussions as a mental health issue and all the libtard feel good crapola are ways to treat the symptoms without addressing the cause.
Subsidies for single motherhood, deposit your seed and disappear fatherhood, pretending that children can be just as responsibly raised by gays or lesbians are just some of the tools used by libtards to make war on the traditional family.
You can see it in their sneering indictment of the Ozzie and Harriett or Leave It to Beaver caricature. If some obscure species of minnow is dwindling due partly to irrigation in a dry year, their answer is to put millions of acres of prime agricultural land (and thousands of workers) out of production to save the obscure minnow.
But when their policies produce a decline of the traditional family, their policy prescriptions are to hasten this decline because it is so old fashioned and passe'. When fathers get the same respect that an obscure minnow species enjoy, this problem will begin to self-correct.
Women are just sneakier about it.
One Saturday morning my wife was making breakfast and I was on the phone with a friend. I made some smart ass comment about my wife doing her “womanly duty”. She didn’t say a word as she set a cup of coffee down in front of me.
It wasn’t till I took a good healthy chug of the coffee that I discovered that she had put several teaspoons of salt in it. She said “Just be glad it was salt....this time.”
In short, we don't need more feminized, metrosexual males to be good buddies to their sons, we need fathers who know when to be tough but fair with their wayward offspring.
