President Barack Obama will travel to Newtown, Conn., on Sunday to meet with families of those killed in the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School and thank emergency workers who responded to the tragedy, the White House said Saturday.
"The President will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families" at 7 p.m., press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement.
On Friday, an emotional Obama vowed to "take meaningful action, regardless of the politics," to prevent future tragedies like the shooting massacre, which killed 26 people at the school, 20 of them children.

An eery post on an Internet message board made Wednesday night by a user allegedly in Connecticut who threatened to kill himself on Friday morning and ‘make the news,’ is raising some questions as to whether it was Newtown Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza.
According to Infowars.com, the post appeared on the 4Chan web site at 10:18pm Wednesday and was made by a user with the user name ‘iKTatjYX.’
The post stated, ‘I’m going to kill myself on Friday and it will make the news, be watching at 9am.’

Numerous, seemingly innocuous Obama government agencies who have absolutely no reason to need or use fire arms didn't purchase millions upon millions of hollow point bullets on the sly over the last year for "target practice". These lethal munitions were purchased for the specific purpose of subduing the American populace. Why do you think the communist Chinese are now clamoring for wide spread, far reaching "gun control" measures to be enacted by Obama and the Democrats?

My question is why is the President going? He can only be seeking political gain (aka Sandy storm). The Dems have already started blame the GOP, then the Tea Party and finally the Second Amendment. The Dems and Obama will attempt to use this tradegy for an all out assault on the Second Amendment.
They should be looking at the moral decay, the trash that is promoted in the entertainment industry and the loss of integrity in journalism as root causes.

Yes, yes he will. In the end it will turn into a “all about Obama” event with some pictures of him greeting families and a campaign speech. He will then go back to DC and maybe play a round of Golf before the big HI vacation.

As a CT Freeper, these last few days have been difficult knowing that folks living in my home state have been suffering.
I get really very unconfortable seeing any politico using this horrible and tragic incident for political reasons.
....And yet in that very same China, was there not a major stabbing incident involving the stabbing of children by someone with a knife? No call for the banning of knives.
....And they have not even been buried yet.
