In the wake of the horrific Connecticut kindergarten massacre today, gun-control advocates are taking to Twitter and the media to blame firearms for the murders of 28 people, including 20 children.
Too soon to speak out about a gun-crazy nation? No, too late, tweeted Bowling for Columbine Director Michael Moore. At least THIRTY-ONE school shootings since Columbine.
He also wrote, The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy.
CBS News reported that the shooter was found with two handguns: a Glock and a Sig Sauer nine millimeter. Police reportedly located a .223 caliber rifle in his car.
Why gun-free zones are the most dangerous places in America.
CNNs Piers Morgan tweeted: Another day, another horrific shooting. Americas gun culture has to change. When will America deal with its gun madness?
Morgan added, Any moment now, a gun nut will tweet me saying, If all the kids in that school had been armed, the shooters would have been stopped
One person reminded Morgan that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said, while there is a day to talk about gun-control policy, today is not that day.
But Morgan countered, White House spokesman Jay Carneys right todays not the day to debate gun control. YESTERDAY was the day to debate it. He also said the tragedy led to what is now President Obamas biggest test will he have the courage to stand up to the American gun lobby?

Idiots on parade, Hey mike is your body guard armed, are all your elitist friends in hollywood protected? yeah I thought so. He’s crying for free mental health and he needs it as most of them do! HYPOCRITICAL BASTARDS
My God, where to begin...
Strict gun control will do NOTHING and likely produce MORE dead children.
Nothing is "free," moron.
Uh, there is already public policy against violence. Ever hear of laws against murder and assault? Every state has them.
Media coverage does nothing for making the best of a bad situation like that. If there are any journalists out there who understand that then maybe there’s hope after all.
Mental health services huh? What needs to change are the laws because anyone with KNOWN mental health issues...such as someone committed to a mental health facility against their will....is NOT SUPPOSED to own a gun.
YET...the liberal laws don’t allow such ‘personal and private’ information to be available on a background check. That’s how Cho and many other mentally ill folks can so easily obtain a weapon unlike a felon who’s information is on a background check.
Guns not the problem. Liberal laws are.
I agree wholeheartedly and the first step should be to level the playing fiela and make it FAIR for everyone:
It shall be a FELONY punishable by not less than 20 years in Prison for ANY person or Persons to solicit or attempt to Solicit any person with a Government Granted Privilege for their own personal use.
Any person with a Government Granted Privilege who uses or attempts to use their Special Privilege for Personal Gain or Profit shall be guilty of a FELONY punishable by LIFE in PRISON without the Possibility of Parole.
We need to ban ALL HIRED GUNS, in the name of Public Safety.
Moore advocates an end to “violence as public policy”. Fine. Let’s do something about the union goons beating up people and attacking women and children in front of the Capitol in Lansing. My money is on nothing ever being done about THAT violence because it’s advocated by the left.
What is needed is mental health reform rather than gun reform. It’s almost impossible to get help for a person who is having mental health issues.
The only way to stop a madman with a gun is more guys with more guns. But they want to keep the crazies on the streets and take away our guns. What a moron is right!
I know the perfect mental health professional to issue those free services. Of course he’s currently busy undergoing a courts martial, but I understand he’s a respected psychiatrist?
Just some observations, but there well over a thousand pages of federal, state, and local gun control laws on the books today...dealing with ownership, background checks, use of a weapon on federal property, hunting rules with guns, sales, ammo, caliber, etc. So you add another page of law....and that will make all this end? No.
Our drug control laws effectively working? No. Should we put up ‘bear control’ laws to prevent bear attacks on Americans? How about ‘ID theft control’ laws? How about some ‘prevention of bridge collapse control’ laws?
Most of us would agree more folks need to be put into mental institutes but Congress won’t dare touch that topic, and neither will your local state government.
More ownership laws? This kid simply stole mom’s legally owned weapons from her. You don’t even see evidence that he’d ever fired a gun in his life.
The truth is that there’s probably 250k Americans who are mentality unstable and just based on luck today...you got up, went to work, and came home safely. Any of those 250k could have gone nuts and taken you down. Your entire life revolves around luck. That’s not much to feel comfortable about.
Idiots on Fox and Friends show are talking about Adam Lanza using bullets that “flower out.”
Why do they call for gun control, but do not fervently push for a death penalty for these types if they chose to live. What if he did not kill himself, James Holmes did not.
Do they secretly say “PHEW!? Thank God they killed themselves!”
And are the gunmen sane if they chose not to die?
I’m not watching the media trying to help the world make the best of a bad situation, I’m seeing people trying to deal with it as individuals.
They’re unable to make the world a better place but they sure try to make you want to believe they can.
The forfeiters of life and responsability are coming out the woodwork, as usual. It’s nothing short of demonic. Those who know there are criminals out there and yet blame those wanting to defend selves and children are EVIL. THEY KNOW AND YET THEY DENY.
I love how guns have been around for decades in their recent form (semi auto handguns) but this is a fairly recent phenomenon that has been occurring with the school shootings. Meanwhile as a society we have turned our back on God, divorce rates have skyrocketed, you now need two incomes to survive as a family, and we are bombarded with violence from the entertainment industry. Yeah, guns are the problem....
We never had these horrors back then.. what really has happened?
We all know that many demanding an end to the Second Amendment will arrange to keep the guns protecting them.. there's something else going on here. Are they diverting attention away from their favorite meds? Or..
was this and other massacres "arranged" in order to advance an agenda.
Maybe yes in the context that certain pharmaceuticals have effects on the mind that, there is strong evidence, cause these horrors.
Yet, and here's the "arranged" aspect, there appears to be a disregard and even a coverup of the connection -- it could be argued that some in the ruling class New Normal want the shootings to happen
and among them there was talk that it may be necessary to kill as many as 60 million Americans to get their desired transformation of America. They need to disarm those 60 million Americans.
Another day, more lies and horrific reporting. Americas Marxist media has to change. When will America deal with its MSM communist madness?
“gun-control advocates are taking to Twitter and the media to blame firearms for the murders of 28 people”
So Lanza didn’t shoot anyone,,,the guns did.
The above underlined didn't work in Australia, as the crime rate doubled after all guns were confiscated.
