President Barack Obama has been pictured shaking hands with a South Korean rapper who sang about wanting to kill American soldiers.

PSY, born Park Jae-sang, performed at a White House charity event on Sunday, despite a deeply controversial performance in 2004 that has shocked and outraged American fans.

The rapper showed off his signature dance moves while performing 'Gangnam Style,' which has the most watched YouTube video in history.

Hey, it was by one South Korean guy in 2004 — one “rapper”. I don’t think it is in any way indicative of how most South Koreans feel now or even felt then.

I can understand the anger Koreans would have over the 2002 incident with the deaths of the two girls, but I also remember that the communist party over there is what agitated the youth over the incident and likely filled their heads with conspiracy theories of all sorts to the point that the mobs weren't at all interested in investigators finding out what really happened and why and would accept no other outcome than guilt, followed by revenge.

His reaction to that case I can understand. You don't have to be a communist to be outraged over it.

What is wacky and not understandable, is his reaction to the 2004 case, where islamic terrorists killed Koreans they held hostage in Iraq. Did he sing songs of rage against Islamic terrorism, OBL, AQ, or against Saddam Hussein? Did he rage against the killers and want to kill them, their families and so on? Or is that language something he only reserves for South Korea's ally, the United States?.

There was some twisted thinking in that fellow's head that has nothing whatsoever to do with sympathy or concern for dead school girls or Korean hostages and it's probably because the thinking is that of a red. If he is, then it's possible he's probably more concerned about doing accidental PR damage to Obama and acted accordingly with a well-crafted apology to soften the blow. I just wonder if Obama were not the prez, would he have apologized or "honored" the troops? They are "Obama's troops" now, after all.

I thought he already PUBLICLY apologized for what he sang (if you can call rapping, singing )? If his public apology isn’t enough, what should he do before his apology will be acceptable? COMMIT HARA KIRI?

Ask a Viet Nam vet if they have accepted Hanoi Jane Fonda's apology yet.

Trying to sell more videos, CD's etc... by making a public apology is not acceptable.

“..I don’t think it is in any way indicative of how most South Koreans feel now or even felt then...”

You’re probably correct, and I was in a really lousy mood when I read/responded. South Korea has been a stellar ally for many years.

But if the young of the South Korea have been subjected to the same amount/type/aggressive political indoctrination from THEIR “liberals” as ours have, it’s probably a fair assessment of how that generation views us - like we are the source of THEIR problems.

"Now, in light of what happened in his country, I can understand the anger he felt in the heat of the moment. If you can’t, then try putting yourself in his shoes for once."

You don't have to preach to me about what went on in Corea. There is NO justification for what he said. Besides, we supposedly "misinterpreted" what he said, per that phyco.

Try putting myself in his shoes? I OWN that ungrateful young punk's "shoes." He knows virtually nothing about what went on in Corea during the war.

I don’t know enough about SKorea to really answer that. But that’s probably true — Die Yumrika!

Me neither. I trained in Tae Kwon Do for a number of years under a South Korean kwanjangnim, and strangely enough he’s a VERY liberal Dem - go figure. He’s here, earning a good living, safe from any threat of invasion, and he’s supporting a regime in DC that’s not all that different ideologically from his Northern relatives in his own country.

I guess with people who think like you, there will always be enmity between individuals and countries and peace will never be possible.

I most certainly DISAGREE with your feelings.

I can accept his apology and move on. If you can’t, then we part ways.

Can you show me the link for her apology? Maybe you can cut and paste the exact words of her apology...

There are no words in the English language to describe my hatred for this POS in the White House but maybe another language has something useful and more descriptive.

I thought that I was the only one who felt that way.
