Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said that extending long-term unemployment benefits would be the best stimulus there is for the economy, saying it would create the most jobs for the money.
Schumer and fellow Senate Democrats called for yet another extension of benefits for the long-term unemployed before the current benefit extension expires at the end of the year.

Just when I think this fool has said or done the most ignorant thing possible he proves me wrong by saying or doing something even more ignorant. WOW! Just effin WOW!

Dumber than a box of rocks.
Of course.
And yet an uncomfortable percentage of the population, and the Leftist Media, believe this garbage.
Just like they believe "green jobs" at $1 million each are a good idea, conservatives only criticize Obama because he's black, Republicans are the party of the rich, blah, blah, blah.
How can you fight a tidal wave of stupidity and blindness? How??

So it follows that we should all be unemployed and collecting a “government check”. Wow...what logic !!!

Another reason to just get to January 1st by doing nothing. When they’re constitents on the couches don’t get their paychecks, there will be hell to pay.

Remember when the Democrats used to care about working families? Now Obama’s failed economic policies have given the Democrats a whole new and growing segment of the population to care about — NON-working families.
Although if the Democrats really cared about those Americans who will be losing their unemployment benefits at the end of the year, Democrats like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would be in serious negotiations now with Congressional Republicans to allow unemployment benefits to be extended in exchange for extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
But that will not happen. To paraphrase Golda Maier, America will not solve its economic problems until Democrats start loving the poor more than they hate the rich.

So if unemployment is stimulus then we can add all the extended unemployment in the last three and a half years to the cost of the stimulus. And it still hasn’t worked.

This spending from Obama is so out of control, he’s giving billions to the UN for climate control. There is no one to stop this monster, this is simply outrageous!

Technically no. A "stimulus" should add activity that would otherwise not be there. Jobless benefits might have the effect of keeping existing spending going when the jobless person falls off their own personal financial cliff, i.e. the family keeps eating. But that isn't really stimulative and most benefits help a family meet only their most basic needs.
Very true. But here's the interesting part - setting aside the part about good jobless benefits being an enabler of continued joblessness, in saying that jobless benefits are the best stimulus, he's implicitly admitting that money works best in an economy when it is in the hands of actual individual consumers.
Which just happens to be the exact argument in favor of lower taxes, right?

Gee Chuck: Why not just send everyone a check whether they ever worked or not.
That would stimulate the economy too.Until the economy ran out of money ripped off from workers to pay for it.
