This year is much like the winter of '75/'76. Little snow until Christmas, extreme cold and major glaciation problems. I'm up in the mountains and the beneficiary of temperature inversion. (Almost balmy)
Be careful out there people, the roads appear dry, but the frost has made them very slippery.

Good evening everyone.
Beautiful pics tonight, Ma!
I attended the funeral of my Uncle Ernest today.
He was my Poppas younger brother.
It was a very beautiful service.
He had a long career as an LEO, and had also served in the Air Force.
So, his procession had a full police escort, and also there were two young men from the Air Force there.
One played a beautiful rendition of Taps, then together they unfolded the flag, refolded it, and gave it to my Aunt.
*sniff*
My little family gets smaller every year.

Hi Hi Hi Hi! Guess who is OUT of Afghanistan and who is slowly working his way home via military transports? If you guessed my wonderful DH ... you’d be correct!!! Woot! Woot! This was his 9th middle east deployment (8 Iraq / 1 Afghanistan). Oh, one more thing? He’s now earned 12 air medals (well, technically, 1 medal with 11 clusters!) YAY!

Good evening, Ms. B.
Sorry to hear about your Uncle. The GI Generation leaves us one at a time.
Been busy getting my videos and the Christmas stuff ready. Then researching Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Stephen Foster and Scott Joplin for next year. No rest for the wicked.

Aloha again Night Owl! ((HUGS))
Somewhat sunny and warm but that's due to Kona winds, which also bring the vog. Haven't seen or heard from Lonesome Plover in a while ......perhaps he's not so lonesome these days.

They’ve been talking about snow for a week...maybe later this week. We will see....the weekend is supposed to warm up to the low 20s.
How did you fare last winter with LOTs of snow?
I’ve been contending with that “looks dry, but is VERY slick” for a couple weeks. I hate it.

How did you fare last winter with LOTs of snow? I spent too much time in my plow truck. We had over 20 feet of snow total. Fortunately I could push mine into some deep ravines, but some neighbors needed dozers and loaders to move the snow because by mid-winter they had nowhere left to push it.
