On Tuesday, November 20, Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity chief scientist John Grotzinger told NPR that an upcoming announcement about data from a recently collected soil sample by Curiosity’s Sample Analysis at Mars, or SAM, instrument would be “one for the history books.” This comment fueled speculation about the possible discovery of evidence indicating past or present life on Mars.
Curiosity rover on December 3 during a press conference at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, California. Explaining the announcement, Space.com describes that Curiosity “found evidence of chlorine, sulfur, and water in Mars dirt studied by its onboard laboratory, as well as organic compounds (chemicals containing carbon) inside its Sample Analysis at Mars instrument.”

Didn’t they “discover” fossilized bacteria on Mars a few years back? Haven’t heard much of it lately.
If I remember correctly, they found a meteorite in Antarctica, that they said was from Mars, and it had signs of fossilized bacteria in it. But not everyone agreed that’s what it actually was.

Was there a launch today? My husband saw a trail going up around 5pm EST. The launches from the Cape are usually to the east between 2-3 o’clock. This was a trail visible from the southwest in Orlando at about 6-7 o’clock around 5PM.
Maybe they finally launched the X-37B?
If they have found life, obama will want to tax the top three percent to redistribute to the scum and bacteria.

How do we know that the organic compounds which have been detected in soil samples taken by the Mars experiment aren’t the result of the possible contamination of the Mars Curiosity vehicle before it left Earth?
They just need to discover global warming on Mars to get more funding.
chlorine is a deadly chemical.
sulfur is common where anything has volcanic activity.
we already knew mars has water, frozen, on it.

I think those 2 have finally come to their end.
They lasted much much much longer than the original design said they would. MUCH longer.
I hate to call you on it, but there were supposed to be two more muches in there.
lol, "organic compounds" vs "chemicals containing carbon"...maybe they mean the same thing to chemists, but to a layman one sounds like "life" and the other like "yeah whatever".
That would be too much.
