BOB COSTAS: And for a long time, Ive been wanting to get off my chest my disgust with this idea that every time something tragic happens, no matter what it may be, that in any way touches sports, theres a chorus of people saying, 'You know, this really puts it in perspective. Which is a bunch of nonsense, because if that was true, we wouldnt have to have that perspective readjusted every time the next tragedy occurs. Its a bunch of nonsense.
And what I was trying to say was, that if you want some perspective on this, there are a number of issues related to this that we could begin to talk about and think about. The problem was that I didnt have enough time to get to many of them. And that, I think, was my mistake, to be quite honest, Dan. A friend of mine in broadcasting pointed this out to me yesterday, and I agree with him. He said, You violated your own rule. Because we have had this discussion before. Ive always said, if youre going to get into touchy topics, nuanced topics, make sure that you have enough time to flesh them out, that you have enough time to make yourself fully understood, or save them for forums where you do. In this particular situation, the timeliness of it was, if youre going to comment on it at all, it had to be this Sunday. Because this is when the Belcher situation had played itself out. We need a national campaign to raise the awareness of Americans that murder is bad.
Shut up and report the sports, Bob. Thank God for DVR's.
stick a sock in it, Bob.
Well I give him credit for at least recognizing his error. Most people never do and much less say it to the public.
Bob, if you cannot get your point across the first time, perhaps you should find another line of work, you ignorant jerk.
I think when the govt endorsed the murder of the pre-born and the pardoning of murderers, a significant segment of society devalued human life. That’s where we are today.
Bob Costas, have a nice cup of shut the fuc* up.
First, put down the hair dye, and pick up a football.
Second, you are a mentally ill liar. There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that if the killer did not have a gun, the victims would be alive. That is asinine and immature thinking. The VAST majority of domestic violence victims are not killed with guns.
Third, you are a disgusting piece of shit. The bodies were not even cold yet, and you try to use their deaths to further your own idiotic political agenda and opinions.
Seriously Bob Costas, go fuc*k yourself.
p.s.
Guns don’t kill people, bullets do.
If it's bad, there oughtta be a law against it.
Perhaps it’s just me, but the headline here is wrong. Costas didn’t admit to making a mistake regarding his anti-gun rant. He is only saying the forum in which he made the comments was the wrong forum. He continues to believe his BS rant.
Bob, I turned you off when you come on and I will continue to turn you off.
The Left always do that. They say something and when they’re called on it they say “whoopsie, our bad” ...
Bob is a MSM icon and makes $5 million a year.
He’s a solid 1 percenter.
And I’m sure his accountant is always instructed to do his taxes without the “Bush” tax cuts.
He’s no Howard Cosell .. but he have it his best shot.
Using Bob’s “reasoning” let’s examine the situation at hand. He wasn’t responsible. It was microphone that did it. We need STRICT microphone control.
You’re not a very good political commentator Bob.
And an even worse sports commentator...................
F Costas. You Fked Up, ‘pal’. Calling it ‘a mistake’ don’t even cover it.
Boycotting NBCsports and Sunday night game still on. Also the MLB network any program with you on.
If he had no microphone, he'd have no problem. Bob needs a microphone time-out.
Am so sick and tired of the crew at NBC sucking up to Obama and the left on so many things.
Enough of that network...I don’t watch much tv anymore, and never watch NBC...nothing on but trash...turn the set off.
There’re too many good books I haven’t read.
:-)
