Well I give him credit for at least recognizing his error. Most people never do and much less say it to the public.

Oh come now you can not be that easily fooled.
His error was in thinking we all thin k like he does. Because of all the blowback (pun intended) he is now trying to make excuses.

His mea culpa, such as it is, is that he didn’t have enough time to pontificate further, not that he shouldn’t have brought up his self-righteous screed at all.

Maybe the problem is that this country is too addicted to its sports. We raise up athletes who use their God-given talents to good effect, treat them like demigods, then pay them ungodly amounts of money. And, to make matters worse, we pay otherwise useless people to tell us what it is we are watching.

You believe that was an honest apology?

“Well I give him credit for at least recognizing his error. Most people never do and much less say it to the public.”

He’s not, though. He’s apologizing for not taking *enough* time ranting against guns and that we, in our ignorance and reactionary thinking, misunderstood his wisdom and insight.

You can expect a lot of this over the next few years as libs feel it’s safe to turn everything into an opportunity to push their political agenda. The only way to counter it is with outrage strong enough to remove them or at least make them in fear of their jobs enough to stick to *doing* their jobs.

Anything less lets them feel immune to criticism; and then you can expect it to get really ugly, strident, and nauseating.
