I doubt that they so much as even read the cover sheet.
Obama wants it all HIS way - or there will be no deal at all. Because that’s the Chicago way.
>>saying it does not meet what the White House calls the test of balance.<<
obozo definition of “balance”:
Take the money from the stack created by makers and move it to the stack for tackers.
There, all balanced!
This was scripted-out back eighteen months ago. It’s an episode of WWE now. The week prior to Xmas...they agree to disagree, and put 90 extra days on the clock. End of March 2013, we end up in a mini-budget deal to last out through the end of December 2013....with zero budget cuts (just enough money to last 270-odd days). That’s the only way that this moves onto 2014, where a massive falling is scripted to occur. Count on bad economic numbers for all of 2013 and 2014.
Always remember that a Democrat’s idea of bipartisanship is that you have to do things their way. Period.
>>Take the money from the stack created by makers and move it to the stack for tackers.<<
Or even the stack for TAKERS.
(dang spell check didn’t understand what I meant)
Pubbies should let it all burn. It’s on Obama’s watch. The slugs and .gov groupies wanted it, LET EM HAVE IT.
It was a fraud. But not enough of Fraud for the white house to accept.
You mean, the GOP plan that is a near-perfect match for Obama’s own debt commission’s report?
Why would Obama reject this plan? It does exactly what he said he wanted - more revenue + spending cuts. Indeed, it raises more revenue than it cuts in spending (not a conservative plan).
There are a couple of reasons Obama would reject this:
1 - it doesn’t give him unrestricted control over the debt limit.
2 - He hopes that the country goes over the cliff so he can further implement his totalitarian Marxist ideology.
...And Obama raised the “Test of Balance” up on high, saying, “bless this “Test of Balance” that with it I mayest blow mine enemies to tiny bits.” And Obama did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu...”skip a bit, brother”... And Obama spake, saying, “First shalt thou take out the “Test of Balance” then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest the “Test of Balance” which is thy Holy Hand Grenade towards thy foe, who being naughty, shall snuff it.”
I think you are absolutely correct. Nothing will change from the past few years concerning a budget. There will be no “passed” budgets throughout ALL of Nobama’s years. There will be more executive orders, shifting of funds between departments, and executive “privilege” to funnel money to his cronies. They’ll pass a bill to keep the Bush tax cuts, but not for those in the $250,000 plus brackets, because the House will cave. Just watch it happen,
As a babyboomer set to retire in a decade, I feel my generation more than any is responsable more than anyone for all the ills and future ills to come.
For 30 yrs including Reagan and Clinton, I’ve listened to supposed Democratic future cuts that not only never happen but spending always increases.
I’d like to go over the cliff, then start talks after the holidays when the debt limit talks come up to have 10% cuts annually for 5 yrs IN WRITING getting down spending to 2.3trillion in 5 yrs then spending is frozen until the debt is paid.
It may take 20 yrs of pain but we’ve lived way beyond our means for too long.
The “Stupid Party” is an apt title of the Republicans in the GOP leadership.
Good. I’d reject it too.
[for different reasons of course]
Pass the Paul Ryan plan all over again with a few minor changes. If no plan is agreed to at least republicans can go on record that they submitted 4 plans or whatever the number is with zero counter offers.
Not sure this would be a bad scenario. Right now O's political capital is too high.
In 3 months more economic negative indicators will have kicked in, Obamacare rules will have been activated, and Obama's ineptitude will be seen in foreign affairs.
All political capital for our side to perhaps get a better deal.
Good. Shut ‘er down!
