I first heard about this yesterday. my step mother texted me all freaked out. I called her, got the story and told her I wasn't suprised. I just wonder a few things, is he saying this to scare more tax dollars out of the residents? Which state will fire the first shot heard around the world?

That’s right, you irresponsible ********, “slash” public safety, the primary duty of local government, but keep on feeding the pension and welfare monsters.

Yes. When liberal municipalities or states run out of OPM, (note Conservatives ones don’t) they immediately slash: NOT welfare and other entitlements but safety, fire, police, etc.
I read in a thread here about one city that won’t send police to a crime unless “blood is involved.”
liberals don’t care about people, they care about power and control=more OPM.

Actually, it’s good advice for anyone.

Normally I would automatically assume the same thing but it appears the libs really hate this guy, he has REALLY pissed them off with the suggestion that people defend themselves lol.

I would really like to see government take a very lenient attitude to any homeowner who shoots a stranger who has wandered onto the homeowner’s property. Trespassing should not be an automatic death sentence — I do want deliverymen to come to my house — but the bar should be pretty low for home defense. That would make burglars really re-think their line of work.

If the city is truly and formally bankrupt, they can start peeling-back on the compensation for current and retired city employees under the supervision of the Bankruptcy court.
If they don’t do that, this is all just posturing in a scheme to raise taxes.

Yep,
when someone trespasses the intention is to take something that belongs to the owner, either property, sex or life itself. Any of those should be defended with extreme prejudice. As sequestration kicks in we are going to see more and more announcements like this and most likely an uptick in death sentence via homeowner!

Schools, cops, and fire are always cut. The diversity office, arts council, and code enforcement? Not so much.

I think we are past the point of slow motion. I have a feeling the momentum is picking up.

They have. They are being sued by CALPERS for not paying $4.5 million in pensions.
The County is suing them for a few million for unpaid County services.
The City Attorney is always saying inflammatory and controversial things.
The City of San Bernardino is very dysfunctional.

Well, like I have been telling everyone...elections have consequences. (I am sure a lot of people have been using the same response).

The hell with the cops. load your firearms and clean up your streets. Had enough of violent felons, gang bangers and drug pushers? Here's your chance to do what the cops never wanted to do.
