The leader of Ukip, Nigel Farage, has claimed that his party has now displaced the Liberal Democrats as the "third force" in British politics after it performed strongly in three byelections.
In the party's strongest showing in a Westminster byelection, Ukip secured 21.79% of the vote in Rotherham, claiming second place behind Labour, which won with 46.25%. The Lib Dems trailed in eighth place on 2.11%.
Labour scored a hat-trick of comfortable victories in the three byelections held in its safe seats of Rotherham, Middlesbrough and Croydon North.

Check out Farage’s videos on youtube some time. He doesn’t pull any punches and has that special kind of eloquence you only seem to find with British politicians. Plus he’s very witty - he’ll probably have you laughing as well as agreeing with his politics.

Canadian conservatives successfully reorganized themselves
The Conservative Party of Canada, currently led by Steven Harper is one of the oldest political party names in Canada, adopted again following the merger of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada in December 2003. The party currently forms the Harper Government in the House of Commons.
The merger to form the new Conservative Party of Canada was announced on October 16, 2003, by the two party leaders (Stephen Harper of the Canadian Alliance and Peter MacKay of the Progressive Conservatives), and was ratified by the membership of the Alliance on December 5 by a margin of 96% to 4%, and by delegates of the PC Party on December 6 by a margin of 90% to 10%. On December 8, 2003, the new Conservative Party of Canada was officially registered with Elections Canada. On March 20, 2004, Stephen Harper was elected the new party leader in a leadership election.
The merger was the culmination of the Canadian "Unite the Right" movement, driven by the desire to present an effective right-wing opposition to the Liberal Party of Canada for the 2004 Canadian election, to create a new party that would draw support from all parts of Canada and would not split the right-wing vote. The splitting of the right-wing vote is widely believed to have contributed to easy Liberal victories in the 1997 federal election and the 2000 election.
The party is still referred to as "Tory" by the media and retains the tie to the historical Conservative Party of Canada founded in 1854 by Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir George-Étienne Cartier by virtue of the fact that the merged entity assumed all assets and liabilities of the Progressive Conservative Party. Peter MacKay and many other high-profile former PCs, including Brian Mulroney see the CPC as a "natural evolution" of the conservative political movement in Canada. MacKay has suggested that the CPC is a reflection of the reunification of conservative ideologies under a "big tent." MacKay has often alluded to the historical fact that fractures have been a natural part of the Canadian conservative movement's history since the 1890's and that the merger was really a reconstitution of the movement.

The Republicans should have hired Farage to deliver Romney’s and Ryan’s speeches during the last campaign. I know Ryan was trying to be polite, but could you imagine Biden trying to get away with the buffoonish act in his debate with Ryan against Farage? The plain fact is Brit pols. are superior to American pols in their ability to ridicule and carve up the oppositions weaknesses. And in a puffed-up clown like Biden, Farage would have sliced him into a thousand different sections.
Yes, and Harper is actually rebuilding Canada after that liberal fascist, Pierre Elliot Trudeau destroyed Canada’s economy based on his socialist ideology and fascist machinations concerning official languages, demographic warfare, and the Fioreign Investment Review Board, and almost destroying what was left of the Canadian Military.
It took a conservative movement and a leader like Harper to rebuild tha Canadian Economy.

Canada generally likes Harper, but those who want hand outs whine and fuss like bitches in heat tied to the Conservative fence post.
I hope Harper keeps them tied. Its been good for the country. And people are getting dismissive of the lefts whining etc, they had 40 years of rule and all the left could accomplish was to fleece taxpayers every chance they got, fraudulently lining their own pockets.
Now the left has a new hero in Justin Trudeau. I hope he trips up on his own poison, just as his associates have historically done. May Harper and the Conservatives prevail for another 20 years at least.

How will that happen? Try to get three conservatives to show up to a village council meeting and object to a sidewalk tax. That in itself would be an incredible achievement. Conservatives have sat by while leftists have crammed massive property taxes down their throats. Conservatives have done nothing to organize and stop unconstitutional invasions of their property rights. Conservatives have allowed the most vile commie scum to enter their schools and teach their kids hate.
If you have a scheme to energize and organize conservatives into a political force to oppose the rat commies and fascists, i’d like to hear it.
Years of affluence take a toll. Americans are overall celebrity infatuated entertainment addicts. Try suggesting to a conservative woman that the holidays should be boycotted and they should not go shopping this Christmas. See what response you get.
Americans will ride the decline all the way down. So long as the TV keeps working nobody will much care what the rulers decide during this holiday season, like they’ve done in every one past.
Are you out of your mind? “Conservatives” in Canada are well left of Romney. They don’t fight for conservative policies as you might imagine them. Unemployment in Canada is every bit as high as in the United States. They will not move to have any form of Private healthcare at all, If I point you to a Canadian gun shop, you will see how “easy” it is to register for something to defend yourself. Abortion: “Settled law”, Gay marriage, don’t even mention it (I’d have to check but I wouldn’t be surprised if Harper showed up at a few sodomite parades). Voting turnout nationwide is abysmal; no one cares anymore. Canadians have long since thrown in the towel. Don’t kid yourself, Harper is worst than the worst of the Rino’s you probably complain about daily. They are better than the Liberals because they combat the global warming crap while the Liberals are way out there on that. As far as foreign policy, they were right there with Obama trying to remove Ghadafi so that The “Butchers of Benghazi” could take over (heck, they supplied the air support in some cases). Did you hear them speaking out against the ridiculous notion of replacing Mubarak? They speak quite loudly about getting Assad out (of course with no real plan about his successor, par for the course among “Conservatives” in the Congress as well). The West is, by and large, void of any leaders
Here in Freeperville, chapter activism has all but disappeared. There are scarcely any active chapters at all any more.
Most freeper activism that actually takes to the trenches and street corners and actually enjoys get-togethers is found in the DC and Florida chapters....congratulations in order here.

Wrong, everything I said is correct, Abortion, “Settled law”. if that were Romney’s position what would your reaction be? Gay Marriage, far from being stopped is being embraced. National Health Care, do you support the Canadian model (which Harper supports)? If you support Harper’s policies then you should be fine with Obama. Open secret in Ontario, Muslims are taking over where the Chinese have not. Halal meat is the call of the day. Immigration from the terrorist nations is on the rise, of course Harper won’t say boo about that. Like I said, if you’re ok with Harper, you don’t have anything to fear with Obama. He’s just managing the socialism, he’s not stopping it. A better manager than Stephen Dion would have been but if that’s a win then we’ve already lost. Before you talk maybe you should live in Canada for a few years and see what’s what.
