Does anyone know how much of our debt has gone to muslim countries in the last four years? I’d like to see a list. One good reason to nix this suggestion is that with no ceiling, more could go. Heck, all of it could go.

I can only say it’s the Marxist RATS way. Buying votes costs a lot of money so they’re taking our kids and grandkids money to do it. Obama and his thug supporters could care less about the future of the country.

Hey, Peloser.
Would you give that power to a President Palin?
No?
Didn’t think so.
So don’t suggest that the country give that power to your boy king.

I dont get it - maybe Im stupid, but someone please explain how this proposal makes sense. They believe they have the assets to justify the borrowing. I wonder what those assets might be?

Why doesn’t Dear Leader merely raise the debt limit as an Executive Order, and dare anyone in Congress to speak up? After his Amnesty edict, he must know he can show complete contempt for the law in every regard.

Why the heck not, they’ll have our 401k’s soon enough, what else do we allow ourselves to give them permission to do?

Why don't we just give each American $1 million?
Then we'd all be millionaires.

To give Barry the power to raise the debt limit whenever he likes would be like giving a group of alcoholics the keys to a liquor store and saying Have at it! They refuse to put their trust in God.
Obama seems to be their alternative.
And they think Christians are crazy.

To be fair, although O is worse, the GOP didn’t worry that much about the debt in the GWB years” If you recall the Budget control act automatically extended the debt limit a second time this year to get O through the election.
As long as O can successfully get voters to blame congressional Rs for anything that goes wrong these conditions are just formalities, O gets whatever he wants.
Rs don’t seem to understand that. They don't understand that voters need to be won over to have any success.
More recently I see Grover on TV shows trying to make the case that it is Obama pushing us off the cliff, not the GOP.
But that battle is long lost as they all seem to be by the time these confrontations hit.

RE :”
But that battle is long lost as they all seem to be by the time these confrontations hit.” One reason why the congressional Rs keep getting beat by O is the same reason (a reason) why the Romney campaign got beat by the O campaign in the election in swing states: Obama’s strategy is pro-active, Republicans is re-active,
By the time each of these confrontations takes place the battle is already won by Obama.
So the only act left is the drama about when the Rs surrender,
Victories take some planning ahead.

Better ask for 2x infinity. You never know, plus it’ll leave him room to negotiate with the Republicans.

If you recall the Budget control act automatically extended the debt limit a second time this year to get O through the election.I wonder what would have happened if the GOP house had refused to pass the budget control act. The GOP would still get the blame, and Dems and media would have shown outraged Americans who could not get passports, the US credit rating crashing, etc.
Pelosi might be speaker now. Not that Boehner is much of an improvement.

"we havent been very successful with budgeting, so from today, if its not explicitly in *here*, it doesnt get funded...therefore, TODAY, we'll historically slash the deficit by $3.5 T "... gavel and go home...
*IF* they would be willing to stay home and get real jobs, the principles could be revived...
take a meataxe to it, and let the chips fall where they may...

But that still doesn't contradict my point, that they were going to increase it anyway and they will again. Its a fact of life, so why do many act so surprised.
But you gotta question why they would delayed cut their own sacred cow pork in the same bill, then praise it and call it a success and then the next year act shocked that the same cuts were scheduled and then run against them like they were Obama. If anything this was counter-productive and made them look stupid,
I assume this was just to temporarily ward off primary challenges because there is no other rational explanation.

sol: HA-HA, ddd, you speak heresy :)In a way, it's really sad for me to admit how GOP "leaders" have performed. But like Ralph Waldo Emerson's transcendental poet, I accept reality.
I think a consensus is forming that, although there are some true conservatives in the party, something is very wrong in the GOP.
