RE :”
I wonder what would have happened if the GOP house had refused to pass the budget control act. The GOP would still get the blame, and Dems and media would have shown outraged Americans who could not get passports, the US credit rating crashing, etc. Pelosi might be speaker now. Not that Boehner is much of an improvement.” HA-HA, ddd, you speak heresy :)
But that still doesn't contradict my point, that they were going to increase it anyway and they will again. Its a fact of life, so why do many act so surprised.
But you gotta question why they would delayed cut their own sacred cow pork in the same bill, then praise it and call it a success and then the next year act shocked that the same cuts were scheduled and then run against them like they were Obama. If anything this was counter-productive and made them look stupid,
I assume this was just to temporarily ward off primary challenges because there is no other rational explanation.

sol: HA-HA, ddd, you speak heresy :)In a way, it's really sad for me to admit how GOP "leaders" have performed. But like Ralph Waldo Emerson's transcendental poet, I accept reality.
I think a consensus is forming that, although there are some true conservatives in the party, something is very wrong in the GOP.

(Fool me once, shame on you -- twice, shame on me -- 100 times, it's U. S. immigration policy.)
