Ok, last night my hubby shared with me a little secret about a Christmas present he tried to get for me last year. Does anyone remember the Michele Bachmann autobiography? Well, knowing I was a big fan and supporter of hers he paid over $125 to get me a personalized copy of her book. He paid for it over a year ago and we are still waiting on that book (or a refund) to appear. After speaking repeatedly to the publishing company about the issue, he has contacted her Congressional office, tried to email her, and even attempted to contact her campaign staff. Everyone affiliated with her has given him the run-around. No one associated with Michele Bachmann has tried to make it right. Either give us the book he paid for, or give him a refund.
I'm insulted. It is for me these days. :o)
Ditto
No experience with this issue. But if he paid with a credit card, just call the credit card company to dispute the charge. At the very least, you’ll get a refund.
I have heard similar tales about Romney and Santorrum, but to Santorumn’s credit he eventually followed through on the merchandise.
Never make a hero out of a politician. Or a pundit.
I had the same experience with Herman Cain. It had not been delivered even after he dropped out of the race. They offered me my money back, and I took it.
Consider disputing it on your credit card.
I doubt the congresswoman has any control over the publication and distribution of these books. A publication company like Premier Collectables probably paid her to autograph a lot of books and they turn around and sell them to the public. She is out of the distribution loop completely.
I will tell you, autographed Congressional books usually go for well under $100. Santorum’s is going for $22. Even Dick Cheney’s is only going for $35. Over $100 usually is reserved for Presidents or someone who has died.

I donated to Rick's campaign when the sweater vest offer was first made. Got mine within a week or two without any trouble...
A week or so back I read about a local post office worker getting caught dumping a bunch of GOP campaign gear (books, sweater vests, signs etc) in a dumpster belonging to a factory near his home. Apparently he had been doing it all along and they caught him on security camera.
I was going to guess that perhaps it is out of print but that is not the issue.
It is readily available for $19.95
I would tell Michelle to stick it.

I saw other Freepers that just got theirs in Oct.
But they did get them.
Most if not all candidate funding or merchandising gets done through companies specializing in those fields. Rarely does that candidate have direct control over what goes on. Sometimes both the candidate and their supporters get ripped off. Best to use a credit card.
There’s a shocker /s
He did call them and they said it had been too long. The people at the publishing company kept saying Bachmann’s people were telling them the books were all done being personalized, and they were getting sent on. He was waiting on them to keep their word and deliver what he had paid for.
I didn’t mean to insult you, I thought I had added “to a lot of people” to that one..
This guy worked at a Detroit area distribution center so he had access to a lot of stuff for months. Being in Detroit, he probably was one of many.
I worked for a printing company and spent a day folding Lee Iacocca signed slipcovers, putting them on books and repacking them.
LOL! That admonition gets violated on a regular basis around here.
