Really. I don’t see a problem here. Give them the same gear that the men get, and send them out on patrol for 30 days to make contact with the Taliban.

For all the propaganda, most women in the war are “combat tourists”, similar to Paula Broadwell. They dress up, hog easy assignments that men could sometimes have, for some rest. (ask a USN Corpsman with the Marine platoons when he might expect to get an assignment to a hospital on a Navy base)
There are all kinds of qualified biographers who can even WRITE their own books at West Point. Think any of them had the sightest chance to do the Paula Broadwell VIP tour of Afganistan? They get nothing BUT special advantages.

They show up in some assignment, pose for the obligatory “im in a war” photo with an M4 and wearing shiny looking combat gear. There is always a big wall in the background because they are inside the base.
(like that sole photo of AlGore in Vietnam, any grunt could instantly see that it looked like the first time he had ever seen a rifle and his uniform looked brand new)

Another fun part, well known in the military,, is that anytime things really start to suck, or no fun, they can get pregnant and pop a smoke to get outta there. Males have no escape like that. It’s used frequently.

And the rare methods of blowing off steam are all now gone. Liberty call is no longer a good time, far from home, designed for entertaining men at war. Now it has to be done to placate the sensibilities of the women of the sexual harrassment generation. Drinking, bar girls, maybe some minor scrapes with the local law, etc,,all replaced with wholesome things, volleyball tourneys, cultural tours, etc.

I wonder if these Broads have ever seen the Blood and Guts of combat, mainly yours. It is not pretty and you can't get your hair done after.

As long as we persist in this materialist/statist where the State is the supreme power we will continue to see this decline of our once Catholic society.I say catholic because there is no agreement in what constitutes christian philosophy. Before the Reformation there was the Church and society, while certain not perfect(it never will be), was organized toward the salvation of souls. What is the organizing philosophy behind our current society? Certainly not the salvation of souls.

A former neighbor gal was a medic and served at a base in Iraq. When she was sent to Afghanistan she requested to be out on patrols so she could help our guys, rather than the locals that would show up at the base.

She did two tours in Afghanistan on patrols - and was in high demand. (She is beautiful too which may have helped!). She said that having a female along also allowed her to treat the women in villages who were likelier to “like” the Americans, warn them about the enemy, etc.

I don’t think she was in a primary combat team - seemed like more getting out into the various villages to have their presence known. Although her mom would ask “Are you getting shot at?”

“I’m not going to talk about it, but Mom - we’re walking through the middle of fricken’ AFGHANISTAN!”

I admire your former neighbor, believe me.

The war in Iraq, for the most part, basically was a combat experience for all. There were any number of females who were killed by hostile fire, and a lot of females who shot it out with the enemy. I realize this isn't the same as being a platoon leader going house to house searching out the enemy, or driving a tank. I just think assigning women to primary combat roles is "fodder for slaughter."

One other thing, and it might not mean much today. But during the Viet Nam war, women were a highly visible presence in the anti-war demonstrations. Young men their own age were being killed by the tens of thousands, and I don’t recall a huge demand by women to be drafted so they could be sent into combat.

Women in the Infantry = All women in the draft. Fair is fair. No exceptions. Overweight woman with six kids? It’s a cruel world out there when everything’s fair. Most women have been sitting on the sidelines on this. Nope. Your little girls can be in the Infantry, whether they want to be or not. I’ve always thought that there were too many male casualties. 50% of our population is female, so 50% of our casualties should be female. Fair is fair. It’s going to be tough when Heather catches one between the eyes from a sniper, but who wants grand kids anyway? Welcome to the Infantry ladies. Turns out Starship Troopers was fiction, huh?

The military has become another social organization apparently

The US military is what is standing in the way of global socialist utopia.

The solution is to chickify it beyond all recognition.

If all things are equal between the sexes how come more females aren’t playing in the NFL?

You can't possibly equate direct contact sports with modern combat situations.

If feminists were genuine, females would've been subject to the draft decades ago.

Not every war will be Afghanistan. Cruising around in a hummer handing out snacks to the kids is a world away from

“THEY’RE THROUGH THE WIRE!”

“I’M OUT OF AMMO!”

“ONLINE! ONLINE! FIX BAYONETS! CHARGE!”

Good luck, Brittney.

Women should not be serving in the military with men.

Yes: I am sure someone can come up with a great story about some fighting woman, some great woman who was super human, but the fact is that the averag woman does not belong in the military.

Nor in the Police or Fire Departments of America, and damned sure not in a mans prison as a guard./

Yes I have seen the women working for the State Road. 90% of them as flag people while others do the hard work.

“You can’t possibly equate direct contact sports with modern combat situations.”

Sounds like you may never have been a grunt?

And i can imagine nothing sicker than drafting women. If you do a random selection of boys, you get mostly kids who are are temperamentally suited for being a soldier.
If you draft girls randomly, you will get a large numbers who were in the school choir, took ballet lessons, played with dolls, and did not ever grow up wishing to be the high School Quarterback.
It’s depraved to force them into the military.

And even if you force them in, congrats. You just took the keepers of our homes, and damaged them such that they will never be the same. And a related sickness is when they leave their kids to do it. Utterly depraved to send a mother to a war.

“And how do we know if they are women or were women or were men at one time >>!?”

And if a soldier, a “man” born as a woman were to come under heavy fire, etc, would the woman’s natural instincts overtake the soldier’s instinct to react according to training?

Not every war will be Afghanistan

Try Iraq, pinned down, cutoff, and surrounded 360 degrees while taking heavy enemy fire, while the LT calls in 155 all around your pos with arty shrap blowing in through the windows.....and all because you're down to -100 rnds per 240G (both), no belted SAW ammo, no hand grenades, no 203 40mm grenades, no SMAW rockets, no AT4s, and trading out magazines because your buddy went "winchester" and there's still a whole f###ton of muj out there.

And 26/45 men were wounded in a day from that one platoon. Closest I ever thought we'd come to "fix bayonets."
